Police arrest 10, recover firearms, ammunition in Enugu
The Police Command in Enugu says operatives attached to `Operation Restore Peace’ have arrested 10 criminal suspects for alleged kidnapping, armed robbery, unlawful possession of firearm and fighting in the state. The operatives recovered two firearms, four live ammunition of .9mm calibre, one expended cartridge, two vehicles, one tricycle, one machete and other incriminating items. The state’s Police Public Relations Officer, ASP Daniel Ndukwe, said in a statement on Thursday in Enugu that the feat was in pursuance of `Operation Restore Peace’ mandates. Police arrest nine for ‘armed robbery, cultism’ in Enugu
Nine persons have been arrested by the Police in Enugu state for involving in offences of conspiracy, armed robbery, unlawful possession of firearm, cultism, and receiving of stolen property. Their arrest followed a renewed charge by the State Commissioner of Police, CP Ahmad AbdurRahman, that police operatives should increase the tempo to rid the state of criminal elements. Enugu doctor arrested over patient’s death
An Enugu based medical practitioner, Dr Charles Nwangwu, has been arrested by operatives of the Inspector General of Police Tactical Squad over alleged medical negligence leading to the death of a 68-year-old father of seven. The family of the deceased had in a petition dated 12th June 2020 addressed to the Inspector General of Police, Mr Adamu Mohammed, alleged that the management of Mount Zion Medical Center, 9th Mile Ngwo, had murdered their father out of medical negligence.
