HURIWA calls on DSS to arrest Bauchi senator for ‘threatening’ Igbos

The Human Rights Writers Association of Nigeria, HURIWA, has called on the Department of State Services, DSS, to immediately arrest Senator Adamu Muhammad Bulkachuwa who is currently representing the Bauchi North Senatorial District at the National Assembly and one Isa Tafida Mafindi for openly threatening to attack the people of South-eastern Nigeria. Newsmen had reported that the senator who backed President Muhammadu Buhari’s ‘civil war’ threat, said the Federal Government would have no choice but to clamp down on the Igbos. Police arrest fleeing ‘ritual killer’

One Festus Simon, who was described by the Ogun State Police Command as a suspected ritual killer, has been arrested. Police said the 20-year-old Simon had earlier been accused of killing a 12-year-old boy in Ibadan, the Oyo State capital. Abimbola Oyeyemi, the Ogun State Police spokesperson, told newsmen Thursday that the suspect was nabbed yesterday. Gunmen storm funeral, shoot top politicians, kidnap guests in Rivers

Unknown gunmen, Saturday, stormed Banigo Isile-Ogono community in Bonny Local Government Area of Rivers State, shot sporadically and abducted several persons in a gory operation. Some of the abducted victims are identified as Sunny Hart, Thomas Allison and Theophilus Ibiama, among several others. NYSC begins registration of Batch A

File Photo The National Youth Service Corps, NYSC, has commenced its online registration for prospective corps members. The registration is for Batch A orientation course. A check on NYSC’s official portal by newsmen showed that the registration process will run till 29 of June, 2020. However, the scheme also warned prospective corps members against changing their date of birth. In a series of tweets, NYSC warned that corps members can’t change their date of birth after service.
