Most Important Things to Look for in a Gaming Monitor

Since the start of global lockdowns, the gaming industry has been booming.  A recent report shows that viewership on Twitch, the most popular live streaming platform for gaming content, reached 6.3 billion hours in the first quarter of this year – that’s more than double what it was during the first quarter of 2020. Now, with more people gaming, the demand for premium gaming equipment has also increased. But not everyone knows exactly what to look out for when it comes to gaming monitors. A monitor is your window to the world of gaming and, considering how much time you’ll be spending looking at it, it’s worth investing in the future of your gaming setup. Ultimately, you don’t want a monitor that holds you back from unleashing the full potential of your graphics card. High- and mid-ra...

Watch How to Make a Song Fit for Cyberpunk 2077

Chances are if you’ve been on the internet in the past week, you’ve been bombarded with talk about Cyberpunk 2077. Not only was it one of the most anticipated video game releases of all-time, but to the delight of EDM.com readers, it also leans heavily on electronic music culture. Considering the game’s futuristic setting, it just makes sense to include the sounds of Grimes, Nina Kraviz, Boys Noize, and more. For the music producers out there, the popular sample marketplace Splice has released a cheeky how-to video inspired by the game. The tutorial is styled like the setting of the action RPG and was developed so the viewer feels as if they are being taught by one of its characters. Using the samples provided in the description of the video by Splice, those wit...

Boys Noize Produced A$AP Rocky’s “Flacko Loco” for Cyberpunk 2077

If you tune in to the Cyberpunk 2077 radio station 101.9 The Dirge, you’re likely to hear new music from A$AP Rocky and Boys Noize. The track “Flacko Loco” is attributed to the artist TELO$, the rapper’s in-game alias, and features Boys Noize and Hector Delgado on the production side. The song rumbles to life with thundering low-end sonics that are par for the course for the New York rapper. Likewise, “Flacko Loco” is minimal in the way of melody, allowing the kicks and bass ample room to run. The arrangement fuels an overall “larger than life” feeling that meshes well with the mercenary-themed title.  From a tonal perspective, the track feels like a logical addition to the game’s ominous environment. ...

Grimes has been at the center of the hype since leaking information back in February about the player experience and her role as the voice actor for character Lizzy Wizzy.  To celebrate the game’s long-awaited launch on December 9th, Grimes released a 17-track companion mixtape exclusively through Apple Music under the guise of her in-game character. Video game developer CD Projekt finally released the wolves earlier this week when the company unveiled Cyberpunk 2077. After toiling through years of production and experiencing many delays, the hotly anticipated and polarizing game has sunk its teeth into the gaming community and hasn’t let go. One of the most ballyhooed video games in recent memory, Cyberpunk 2077 has also been a hit in the EDM community. Since its release, many DJs and producers have taken to social media to comment on the title’s gameplay, bugs, and the existence of cybernetic—*ahem*—genitalia. Check out reactions from Getter, Kill The Noise, Hotel Garuda, and more below.

To celebrate the game’s release, Grimes is sharing a new song she wrote for the soundtrack called “Delicate Weapon”, which you can stream below. The first volume of the Cyberpunk 2077 soundtrack is out today and features Grimes’ previously released single “4ÆM”, but the second volume — which includes “Delicate Weapon” — won’t be out until December 18th. Grimes must have been too excited to keep it quiet because she debuted the contribution early today on an Apple Music mix. Apparently they can also DJ and sing. Check out Kraviz’s performance below. Cyberpunk 2077 officially launched this morning on PlayStation 4 and 5, Xbox One and Series X/S, and PC. ...

Cyberpunk 2077’s Futuristic Score Isn’t Your Grandfather’s Dystopia

CD Projekt RED is in a bit of a unique situation when it comes to this week’s release of Cyberpunk 2077. On one hand, the game is sure to top sales charts, will be loved by millions of fans and is likely to be a critical favorite. On the other, it seems like even an absolutely flawless game wouldn’t be able to live up to the unprecedented amount of hype built behind the title since its initial announcement in 2012. The futuristic RPG’s great expectations are certainly deserved considering that CDPR’s last major project was The Witcher 3, which not only earned numerous awards (and considered as one of the best video games of all time) but also received a second boost in popularity due to the success of last year’s Netflix series. Years before its release, Cyberpunk 2077 was already a multi-...
