Celsius wants to extend the deadline for claims as lawyer fees mount

Bankrupt crypto lender Celsius Network is planning to file a motion that would extend the deadline for users to submit their claims by another month. The crypto community has started to grow impatient, noting that Celsius’ lawyer fees have continued to stack up and are eating away at the lender’s estate. In a Dec. 29 tweet, Celsius announced that it would seek to extend the current deadline for claims from Jan. 3 to early February.  The bankruptcy court is set to hear the motion on Jan. 10, and according to Celsius, the Jan. 3 deadline will be extended until at least then. Haiti asks US, UN to send troops after president’s assassination

Haiti has asked Washington and the UN for troops to secure its ports, airport and other strategic sites after the assassination of President Jovenel Moise opened a power vacuum in the crisis-hit Caribbean nation, an official said Friday. The United States has already said it will send FBI and other agents to Port-au-Prince, two days after Moise was shot dead in his home. FRSC to auction unclaimed vehicles in Akwa Ibom

The Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC), Akwa Ibom Command, on Wednesday said that it would auction all unclaimed vehicles in its custody. In a statement issued by Mr Paul James, the command’s Public Enlightenment / Public Relations Officer said that all vehicles impounded within the last six months and unclaimed would soon be auctioned. James said the corps reserved the right to invoke relevant sections of the law to auction any impounded vehicles not claimed after six months. Barely 24 hours after his arrest was made public, the Indigenous People of Biafra on Wednesday, warned that nothing must happen to its leader, Nnamdi Kanu. The lead counsel to the proscribed Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB), Ifeanyi Ejiofor, has said the arrest and arraignment of Nnamdi Kanu earlier Tuesday was without his knowledge. “We have just confirmed through a correspondence from the Federal High Court Abuja about the arrest and the extradition of my Client- Mazi Nnamdi Kanu by the Nigerian State,” Mr Ejiofor said in a statement on Tuesday evening. “He was brought before the Federal High Court No 2 Abuja today on an Eleven count charge, though without our knowledge,” the attorney added. Pastor held over ‘murder’ of 13-year church member

A pastor of one of the new generation churches in Agbor, Ika South Local Government Area of Delta State has been arrested by the police over the alleged murder of a 13-year member of his church, one Miracle. The deceased was said to have killed in suspicious circumstances, as heart was ripped open and vital organs missing when her corpse was discovered. Lagos: Police rescue another abandoned one-month-old baby

The Lagos State Police Command on Friday, rescued another one-month-old female child that was abandoned at the junction of a popular petrol station, by Orile Bus Stop, Lagos. Time was about 8am when the baby was sighted by some passers-by who alerted the Police operatives attached to Orile Division of the Command before she was rescued and handed over to the Gender Unit of the Lagos State Police Command, Ikeja.
