Lagos NUJ mourns veteran journalist Tony Momoh

YouTube The Lagos State Council of Nigeria Union of Journalists (NUJ), has expressed shock over the death of Prince Tony Momoh who passed on at 81. Mr Adeleye Ajayi, the State NUJ Chairman said this in a statement in Lagos on Tuesday. Ajayi said that the erudite journalist contributed immensely to the advancement of journalism both in pre-and post-independence Nigeria. “Momoh was a versatile journalist who will be remembered for two celebrated cases. Former President, Chief Olusegun Obasanjo, on Thursday, described the late billionaire businessman, Bolu Akin-Olugbade, as passionate in his defence of Nigerian unity and was devoted to his roots. ‘Christmas village’ boost Akwa Ibom economy with N1 billionn revenue – official

Mr. Orman Esin, the Akwa Ibom Commissioner for Culture and Tourism, has said the ‘Christmas Village’ generated more than N1 billion to the state economy since Dec. 1, 2020. Nigeria: 1,375 irregular migrants arrested during border closure

The Federal Government said on Monday that no fewer than 1,375 irregular migrants were arrested while the border drill code-named, ”Exercise Swift Response,” lasted. 15 people die of coronavirus in Nasarawa

The Deputy Governor of Nasarawa State, Dr Emmanuel Akabe, has disclosed that 15 persons have died from COVID-19 since the outbreak of the virus. He said in Lafia after a security meeting that, ” As at Tuesday December 22, the state has discharged 668 confirmed cases of COVID-19, with 26 under home care and 3 in isolation. “85% of the cases are found in Karu, Keffi and Lafia local government areas, while the rest are found in the remaining 10 councils of the state.” He said. Nigeria’s Minister of Information and Culture, Lai Mohammed, has said his only regret as a minister is that some Nigerians have failed to appreciate that the administration of President Muhammadu Buhari is doing so much with little resources.
