Police: Ritualist kill food vendor, cut off her hands, head in Osun
The Police are on the trail of a a suspected ritualist who killed and cut off the head and hands of a female food vendor in Ile-Ife, Osun State on Saturday. The Command Spokesperson, SP Yemisi Opalola, who said this in a statement on Sunday, said that the police were on the trail of the assailant. Opalola explained that the woman, known as Iya Elekuru, was lured into a building by her killer, under the pretence that he wanted to buy food from her. “The woman hawking food was lured inside a house and was brutally murdered . “The suspect chopped off her head and hand and the he fled the scene with the mutilated body parts. A lecturer with the Alex Ekwueme Federal University Ndufu-Alike Ikwo, Ebonyi State, Mr Kyrian Nwoke, has been murdered by unknown assailants. Until his death, he taught in the Department of Physiology in AE-FUNAI. His lifeless body was found along Abakaliki rice mill axis of Ogoja Road, on Monday, with bullet wounds. Newsmen gathered that the deceased was using his car for a taxi in order to fend for himself and his family following the hardship occasioned by the lingering dispute between the federal government and the Academic Staff Union of Universities which has led to the withholding of salaries of lecturers for months. Police arrest 22-year old for alleged ritual murder in Bauchi
Police Command in Bauchi state has arrested a 22-year-old man, suspected to be a ritualist for alleged gruesome murder of his neighbour in Alkaleri Local Government Area (LGA) of the state. The governorship candidate of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Edo State, Pastor Osagie Ize-Iyamu, said contrary to what is in circulation, he never poured acid on a fellow student as an undergraduate but rather drew the attention of the school security and took the victim for first aid treatment.
