Report: Fulham make late move for £20m attacker linked with Crystal Palace

According to The Daily Mail, Fulham have made a late move to beat Crystal Palace in the race to sign Said Benrahma from Brentford. The Eagles are in advanced negotiations with the Bees to land the Algeria international, but they have yet to finalise a suitable transfer agreement. Amidst this, it appears that the Cottagers have joined the race to sign the 25-year-old, who bagged 17 goals and 10 assists in the Championship last term. Benrahma was initially linked with the likes of Chelsea and Arsenal, but the London giants decided to look at more high-profile options to strengthen their attack. Still, there is plenty of Premier League interest and it appears that the Cottagers and Eagles are now the main contenders for his services. The Bees are said to demand around £20m to part ways w...

Report: Crystal Palace looking to sign 24-year-old Eredivisie-based defender

According to The Mail, Crystal Palace are considering a move for Vitesse Arnhem left-back Max Clark amid the uncertainty over the future of Patrick van Aanholt. Van Aanholt dislocated his shoulder during the final weeks of the previous campaign and he has yet to make a comeback to first-team action. In his absence, academy graduate Tyrick Mitchell has done a credible job on the left side of the backline, but the Eagles are still aiming to bolster the department. As per The Mail, the south London outfit are uncertain over the future of Van Aanholt whose contract expires in less than 10 months’ time. Hence, they are looking into a potential long-term replacement and have identified Clark as a suitable target for the role. Clark graduated through the youth system at Hull City and made hi...

‘He’d be a great signing: Many Everton fans urge Ancelotti to sign ‘top player’ from PL rivals

Manchester United lost their opening game of the 2020-21 Premier League campaign with a 3-1 defeat on Saturday against Crystal Palace at Old Trafford. Two goals from former United player Wilfried Zaha and one from Andros Townsend sealed all three points for the Eagles. Many Everton fans have been left impressed with Zaha’s performance, and have urged the club to sign the Ivory Coast international. Zaha has expressed his desire to move elsewhere and challenge himself at a bigger club. However, Crystal Palace are yet to receive a substantial offer for the 27-year-old winger. Everton fans feel that Zaha is a ‘top player’, and he would be a ‘great signing’ for the club. Here are some of the selected tweets: Zaha isn’t my first choice for another attacker in this window however for a reasonable...

Report claims what Klopp told £20m Villa and Palace target last week

Liverpool are looking to offload some of their players before the end of the summer transfer window. The Athletic reported earlier this week that as many as six players could be offloaded by the Premier League  champions, as they look to recoup the money they spent on signing Thiago Alcantara and Diogo Jota. According to reports from The Sun (printed edition; 20/09/20 page 56), the Reds are looking to offload Rhian Brewster this summer. Alan Nixon of The Sun has claimed that Brewster has been told by Liverpool boss Jurgen Klopp that he needs to move out to get regular games. Brewster would find game time hard to come by following the arrival of Jota from Wolves. Klopp had a face to face conversation with him last week where he was delivered the bad news. Crystal Palace and Sheffield U...

Report: How much Tottenham will have to pay to sign 29 y/o from PL rivals

Crystal Palace are reportedly looking to offload Christian Benteke this summer. According to reports from The Sun (printed edition, 20/09/20 – page 56), the Eagles are demanding a fee in the region of £10m for the Belgian striker. The 29-year-old has scored just six league goals in 71 Premier League games over the last three seasons, and Palace are looking to offload him. The report claims that Turkish club Fenerbahce and Belgian outfit Club Brugge have shown interest in signing the former Liverpool striker. Benteke is also keen to leave the club as his deal enters the final year. Palace need funds to sign the likes of Rhian Br...

Ole Gunnar Solskjaer admits Manchester United are not good enough

Manchester United boss Ole Gunnar Solskjaer has responded to criticism of the club’s activity, or lack thereof, in the transfer market following the loss to Crystal Palace. The legendary Norwegian watched on helplessly as his players frustratingly fell to a 3-1 defeat at Old Trafford, much to the disgust of the fans. While many expected a difficult fixture, no one truly foresaw a comfortable win for Palace but it’s what transpired. The London club worked hard and took full advantage of the lack of minutes in United’s legs, though that’s no excuse for the performance. Naturally many supporters were calling even stronger for more signings to be made and it was something that was put forward to Solskjaer in the post-match press conference. Solskjaer’s comment is essentially the best way he ca...

Crystal Palace’s Wilfried Zaha explains Jordan Ayew penalty swap against Manchester United

Crystal Palace attacker Wilfried Zaha has englightened the public on the incident leading to replacing Ghana striker Jordan Ayew in retaking a missed penalty during Saturday’s Premier League triumph over Manchester United. The Eagles have made it two away wins over Manchester United in a row as they registered a 3-1 triumph at Old Trafford, and taking three points for the second straight time in this term. With Palace 1-0 up, Ayew won a penalty for his side and elected himself to take the resultant kick which was saved by goalkeeper David de Gea. Palace were, however, spared by a video assistant referee (VAR) decision which ordered for a retake of the kick, judging De Gea to have moved off his line before the kick was taken. Surprisingly, Ayew did not step up for the retake, which was this...

Report: Hammers looking to pip Palace to 17-goal forward valued at £25m

According to le10sport, West Ham United are still very much keen on recruiting the services of Brentford winger Said Benrahma this summer, but they are facing fierce competition for his signature from Crystal Palace. The Bees want £25 million for the Algerian international, but £18 million is the highest bid they have received so far. Benrahma wants to play in the English top-flight after Brentford failed to earn promotion last term, and the Hammers and Eagles are both ready to offer him that chance. West Ham are yet to make a signing this summer but have sold Grady Diangana to West Bromwich Albion and are looking to invest the fee in other areas. David Moyes’ men suffered a 2-0 loss at the hands of Newcastle United in their Premier League opener on Saturday at the London Stadium, and that...
