However, historians have found a connection in ownership to an amateur Crystal Palace football club which was formed in 1861. This would make them the oldest professional football club in the world. The former Palace owner added that he was not surprised to see the Whites suffer a heavy defeat to Leicester City in the Premier League. Last Monday, Leeds went down 4-1 to Leicester at Elland Road in the league. Jordan has now taken to Twitter to remind Leeds fans what he said about the team following the West Yorkshire club’s defeat at the hands of Palace on Saturday afternoon. Crystal Palace defender receives ‘substantial’ damages from WADA

Crystal Palace defender Mamadou Sakho has accepted damages from the World Anti-Doping Agency. The damages are the result of allegations he took performance enhancing drugs. He received a brief suspension in 2016 when he tested positive for a substance that helps burn fat called higenamine whilst playing for Liverpool. Sakho was eventually cleared by UEFA and has now been rewarded for damages caused. He said in a statement: “I am pleased with Wada’s acceptance that I did not breach the Uefa anti-doping regulations, did not cheat, had no intention of gaining any advantage and acted in good faith. “I am also pleased that Wada has apologised to me and agreed to pay a substantial sum in damages. “I consider myself vindicated and now look forward to continuing my career.” He added: “This is the ...

This is how Nuno could shape his team up against Palace: Goalkeeper: Nuno has no major injury issues and Jonny remains the only injury concern for Wolves. Andros Townsend comments on Crystal Palace teammate Wilfried Zaha

Andros Townsend said on talkSPORT (10am, October 27, 2020) that Crystal Palace winger Wilfried Zaha will get his move at the end of the season if he plays well. The former Tottenham Hotspur and Newcastle United winger spoke highly of his Palace teammate. Townsend believes that if the Ivory Coast international scores 15 to 20 goals for Palace this season, then he will get a move to a bigger club. The Englishman said about Zaha on talkSPORT (10am, October 27, 2020): “I think Wilf and the manager have made no secret that Wilf wanted to move this window. It’s not like he doesn’t like Crystal Palace or he has fallen out of love. He just believes that he was destined for bigger things, which I agree with. “But when the transfer doesn’t happen, for whatever reason, he now obviously still loves Cr...

Manchester United set new club record after another Champions League win vs Paris Saint-Germain

Manchester United’s victory against PSG in the Champions League has seen the club win 10 consecutive away games for the first time in their history. A late winner from Marcus Rashford saw the Red Devils win 2-1 against the Parisians at the Parc des Princes – the scene of their famous Champions League win versus PSG in 2019. Ole Gunnar Solskjaer’s side have now won their last 10 matches on the road, dating back to the 2-1 extra-time win against Norwich City in the FA Cup on June 27. Since Harry Maguire’s 118th minute to sink the Canaries, United have beaten Brighton (three times), Aston Villa, Crystal Palace, Leicester City, Luton Town, Newcastle United and now PSG. ‘Not surprised’ – Some West Ham fans react after hearing £25m transfer might not happen

Crystal Palace could make a late move for the Brentford winger Said Benrahma. West Ham had agreed a £25 million deal with the Championship club for the Algerian winger but it seems that the move is in danger of collapse now. Apparently the 25-year-old has fallen out with the Championship club’s hierarchy over broken promises. The attacker was all set to undergo a medical with West Ham after returning from international duty but the deal appears to be off now as per Mirror. Benrahma scored 17 goals for Brentford last year and he would have been a sensational signing for West Ham United. It will be interesting to see if Palace can agree on a deal with the Championship outfit and sign the Algerian before the window closes. The 25-year-old has the quality to improve most midtable clubs in the ...

Crystal Palace close in on signing former Liverpool defender Nathaniel Clyne

According to The Athletic, Crystal Palace are close to signing former Liverpool right-back Nathaniel Clyne on a free transfer. Clyne has been a free agent after being released by the Reds during the summer. The 29-year-old, who missed the whole of last season in rehabilitation after cruciate knee ligament damage, was an outcast over his last few months at Anfield, training on his own until the expiration of his contract on July 1. However, he continued to work on his fitness by linking up with Roy Hodgson’s squad a month ago and impressing the manager during training.  From the report, the Englishman is now on the verge of signing a short-term deal with Roy Hodgson’s side lasting him until January when the club will re-assess the player for a possible extension. Palace already have Jo...

Report: Crystal Palace ready to make club-record bid for Manchester United target

Crystal Palace are planning a late club-record bid to sign Watford winger Ismaila Sarr, a report from The Sun claims. Sarr was linked with a move to Manchester United before the international transfer deadline on October 5, but a deal failed to materialise after they were put off by the Hornets’ £40m price tag. It appears that the Red Devils have ended their pursuit of Sarr, but he could still be the subject of late transfer interest from Roy Hodgson’s side. The Eagles recruited a quality attacker in Eberechi Eze earlier this summer, but they are eyeing another frontline option before the domestic window closes on Friday. The club are willing to pay a club-record fee of around £30m for Sarr, but it is reported that the offer is likely to be rejected by the Hornets, who are f...
