HipHopWired Featured Video Source: SOPA Images / Getty As cliche as it may sound, not all heroes wear capes—or even police badges. In Indianapolis, two civilians, who happen to be Black women, have been credited with finding a 5-month-old baby who went missing last week in Columbus, Ohio, and his alleged kidnapper. According to Indy Star, it all started when two twin brothers, Kason and Kyair Thomas, were reported missing in Columbus. It’s unclear how Kason was found, but Kyair’s discovery includes a wild story that began when Indianapolis resident Shyann Delmar bought toys from a random woman at a gas station, then agreed to give the woman a ride to the store. From Indy Star: After dropping the woman off, Delmar shared the story and a video she’d taken of the woman with her cousin, Mecka ...
HipHopWired Featured Video CLOSE Source: Bernard Smalls / @PhotosByBeanz On Friday (Dec. 23), a Los Angeles jury found rapper and singer Tory Lanez, born Daystar Peterson, guilty of shooting Meg Thee Stallion. The Canadian rapper and singer is facing up to 20 years, and deportation, when he is sentenced. The now infamous incident occurred after Lanez and Meg attended a party held by Kylie Jenner. During an argument over their respective careers, which also included Meg Thee Stallion’s former friend Kelsey Harris, it was the former who ended up shot in both feet. A trial that was closely watched by the social media peanut gallery, and elicited plenty of sexist commentary and gossip aimed at Meg, has culminated in Lanez being found guilty of assault with a semiautomatic handgun, carryi...
HipHopWired Featured Video Source: Jason Armond / Getty Kelsey Harris has some explaining to do. Although in recent court proceedings she essentially said her memory is fuzzy, in a deposition that was played in court, Megan Thee Stallion’s former friend says she saw Torey Lanez shooting at the Texas rapper. Reports TMZ: As you know, Kelsey has been hesitant, to say the least, to give up many details while testifying this week, but on Friday prosecutors played audio of the entire interview she did with cops earlier this year … when she spilled every detail from that July 2020 night. Related Stories Kelsey says while they were in the SUV — after the party at Kylie Jenner’s house — she and Tory first got into an argument when he made fun of Megan. When Kelsey came to her friend’s defense, she...
HipHopWired Featured Video Source: TMZ / Youtube Gunna is no snitch. That’s according to former Breakfast Club co-host Angela Yee. On Thursday (Dec. 15), Atlanta rapper Gunna, born Sergio Kitchens, plead guilty to one count of conspiracy to violate the Racketeer Influenced and Corruption Act, which allowed him to essentially become a free man while Young Thug continues to battle the RICO case against him. Of course, this led to wild speculation and hot takes on the Internes that Gunna was dropping dime on the entire Young Stoner Life (YSL) team, which the Feds says is actually a gang under the guise of a record label. Knowing he’s been able to walk (he got time served and will be doing community service) would raise eyebrows, he quickly issued a statement that read: “While I have agreed to...
HipHopWired Featured Video Source: SOPA Images / Getty Looks like not even Monks are immune from the allure of drugs as a temple in Thailand no longer has any monks to fulfill their religious obligations after every last one of them tested positive for methamphetamine aka Meth. Yes, the same stuff that Walter White would cook up. The New York Post is reporting that four Buddhist monks were removed from a Buddhist Temple in Thailand and taken to rehab after each of them failed the drug tests in the Phetchabun province’s Bung Sam Phan district this past Monday, Nov. 28. Even the temple’s Abbot’s test came back dirty. “The temple is now empty of monks and nearby villagers are concerned they cannot do any merit-making,” said the official, Boonlert Thintapthai. Police forced the monks to underg...
