Minnesota Vikings’ Kirk Cousins Stupidly Suggests Surrounding Himself With Plexiglass Instead of Getting Vaccinated

HipHopWired Featured Video Source: Icon Sportswire / Getty It’s thinking like this that is keeping the United States COVID-19 hell. NFL athletes have been complaining big time since the league made life extremely hard for unvaccinated players stopping short of mandating them to take it. Minnesota Vikings quarterback and Trump fan, according to Raw Story, Kirk Cousins is one of those hardheaded players. Despite having to quarantine after being considered a close contact to an infected player, Cousins still won’t get vaccinated against the novel coronavirus that is wreaking havoc around the globe thanks to the highly contagious and more dangerous delta variant. During a press conference on Thursday (Aug.5), Cousins told reporters that his decision not to get the shot is  “personal,” and...

Cash For Shots: President Biden Wants To Give You $100 For Getting Vaccinated

HipHopWired Featured Video Source: fotostorm / Getty COVID-19 is showing how resilient it is thanks to the highly contagious Delta variant. While masks are one measure to help stop the spread, vaccines are the main tool to end this pandemic. Now, President Joe Biden wants to incentivize getting vaccinated. We are not out of the pandemic woods yet, and it’s now all hands on deck. A leaked CDC document detailed just how fluid and dangerous the situation is because of the Delta variant. Before the report hit Twitter timelines via a Washington Post report, Joe Biden kept it a buck and told Americans things looked real spooky again because of the unvaccinated portion of the country. President Biden revealed a series of new measures to get vaccination numbers up during his passionate plea, inclu...

Charles Barkley Keeps It All The Way Real, Says People Who Don’t Want To Get Vaccinated Are “A**holes”

HipHopWired Featured Video Source: Cliff Hawkins / Getty Charles Barkley is not known for biting his tongue, so when it comes to his feelings towards people who don’t want to get vaccinated, the Chuckster didn’t sugarcoat them. Speaking with CNBC, the Hall of Famer wasn’t shy about revealing his vaccination status, sharing that he did indeed get the COVID-19 vaccine and kept it all the way real about the people who still have not gotten the shot. “Everybody should be vaccinated. Period,” he said, before letting the chopper spray adding, “The only people who are not vaccinated are just assholes.” The brutally honest Inside The NBA host also believes that all sports leagues should mandate that athletes have to be vaccinated to play. “Can you imagine if one of these guys that are not vaccinat...

Make It Make Sense: Fully Vaccinated “Blues Singer” Eric Clapton Threatens To Cancel Shows If Venues Require Vaccinations

HipHopWired Featured Video Source: Gie Knaeps / Getty This pandemic will never end with thinking like this. Eric Clapton is singing the blues when it comes to vaccinations against COVID-19. The “blues singer” who is also fully vaccinated is BIG MAD, claiming he has “the right” to cancel shows at venues that will require people to be vaccinated to attend. His stance puts his hypocritical and quite frankly boneheaded anti-vax sentiments on full display. Deadline reports Clapton’s statement came after UK Prime Minister Boris Johnson announced “that vaccine passes will be required to enter nightclubs and other venues,” a very logical move as the country is still battling rising COVID-19 cases due to the more highly contagious delta variant. Clapton’s next show is damn near a year away, and he ...

First identified in India and the cause of significant desolation in the Asian country, COVID-19 Delta is dominant in the West of Kenya, where it was initially detected in the country. In response, Kenya’s government has imposed restrictions on movement in the region in attempts to stem Delta from spreading nationwide. IMF, World Bank urge G7 to release surplus vaccines

The heads of the International Monetary Fund and World Bank on Thursday urged the Group of Seven advanced economies to release any excess COVID-19 vaccines to developing countries as soon as possible, and called on manufacturers to ramp up production. In a joint statement to the G7, IMF Managing Director Kristalina Georgieva and World Bank President David Malpass also called on governments, pharmaceutical companies and groups involved in vaccine procurement to boost transparency about contracting, financing and deliveries. “Distributing vaccines more widely is both an urgent economic necessity and a moral imperative,” they said. “The coronavirus pandemic will not end until everyone has access to vaccines, including people in developing countries.” Malpass and Georgieva will meet in person ...

South Sudan to return 72 000 coronavirus vaccines to Covax

South Sudan will return 72 000 doses of donated Covid-19 vaccines after concluding it cannot administer the jabs before they expire, a health ministry official told AFP on Tuesday. The country received 132 000 doses of the Oxford/Astrazeneca vaccine in late March from Covax, the global initiative to ensure lower-income countries receive jabs, but so far has administered less than 8 000 shots. The rollout has been hampered by vaccine hesitancy and major logistical hurdles in the vast and underdeveloped country of 12 million, which, apart from the pandemic, faces an emergency food crisis and widespread armed insecurity. “There’s a plan to deliver back 72 000 doses to Covax,” Angelo Goup Thon, the head of Covid-19 operations at the health ministry, told AFP. He said the decision was made late...

HipHopWired Featured Video Source: KAMIL KRZACZYNSKI / Getty The effort to get Americans vaccinated against COVID-19 has just hit a significant roadblock. Injections of the Johnson & Johnson COVID-19 vaccine are halting across the country after both the CDC and FDA called for a pause in its use “out of an abundance of caution” after cases of a rare blood clotting disorder emerged in six recipients of the vaccine. “We are recommending a pause in the use of this vaccine out of an abundance of caution,”  Dr. Peter Marks, director of the Food and Drug Administration’s Center for Biologics Evaluation and Research, and Dr. Anne Schuchat, principal deputy director of the CDC both announced in a joint statement, they also made sure to point out “Right now, these adverse events appear to b...
