FRSC to introduce NIN information for vehicle registration, license — Oyeyemi
Mr Boboye Oyeyemi, Corps Marshal, Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC), says that the corps will introduce the National Identity Number (NIN) information by first quarter of 2021 for vehicles registration. Oyeyemi revealed this when he featured on the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) Forum in Abuja on Friday. The corps marshall said that the essence of the NIN was to enhance road safety through the use of technology. NYSC offers free virus tests for corps members, officials
The National Youth Service Corps (NYSC) in Ebonyi State has opened its orientation camps for the Batch B Stream 1A with strict adherence to Covid-19 protocols. The Public Relations officer of the Corps in Ebonyi state, Ngọzi Ukwuoma confirmed this to newsmen in Abakaliki. She said the Old MacGregor College Permanent Orientation camp in the State opened on Monday with free Covid-19 test for all staff and prospective corps members. According to her, all camp officials including the State Coordinator, Mercy Bamai and all prospective corps members took the COVID 19 test before they were allowed into the camp. “All other Covid-19 safety protocols are strictly adhered to here on camp by the members of the camp community”,she said. A former governor of Lagos State and National Leader of the All Progressives Congress, APC, Asiwaju Bola Tinubu, has called for a review of the country’s revenue formula, saying Amotekun security outfit in the S/West will be a pet if everyone is engaged. How Amotekun will tackle crime in Ekiti – commandant
The Corps Commandant of Amotekun in Ekiti, retired Brig.-General Joe Komolafe, says ancient and modern security techniques would be deployed to tackle crime in the state. Newsmen report that Amotekun is the security outfit initiated by the six states in the South West Zone to tackle crime in the region. Komolafe spoke at Efon Alaaye during a sensitisation tour to the three council areas of Ekiti West, Efon Alaaye and Ijero. The decoration ceremony followed the just concluded promotion of senior officers on 30 May by the FRSC board. 68 NYSC members to repeat service year in Lagos
National Youth Service Corps (NYSC) coordinator in Lagos, Eddy Megwa, says 68 corps members in the 2019 Stream I Batch B would have to repeat their service year in the state. The state coordinator made this known on Thursday, at the Ikeja Local Government Secretariat, one of the venues for the passing out ceremony of corps members. Mr Megwa said a total of 6, 196 received their Certificates of National Service, with three corps members distinguishing themselves during the service year. He said the three would be receiving state merit awards for their outstanding performance in their service year. Four arrested in Abeokuta for riding bike from Minna
Operatives of the Nigerian Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC) have arrested four Northern Youths who sneaked into the State from Niger State despite an inter-state travel ban by the Federal Government. Parading the youths in Abeokuta, the State Commandant of the Corps, Mr. Hammed Abodurin, said they were intercepted at Oke-Ilewo, Abeokuta at about 10:30 Tuesday for violating the State lockdown rules and for being in the public without using face masks and riding unregistered motorcycles. FRSC tasks Ogun residents to adhere to government’s coronavirus measures
The Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC) in Ogun, on Friday, reiterated the need for residents to adhere strictly to stay-at-home order towards curbing further spread of the novel coronavirus disease. The Sector Commander of the Corps, Mr. Clement Oladele, gave the advice in an interview in Ota, Ogun.
