Looks like James Bond has no time to be released: No Time to Die has been delayed once again, and is now scheduled for April 2nd, 2021. Daniel Craig’s fifth and final mission as 007 was originally expected to premiere in the US on April 10th. Like most things in entertainment, it was delayed in the early days of the pandemic, setting a new date of November 20th. However, with major markets like Los Angeles and New York still in various stages of lockdown, and many European areas experiencing a “second wave” of increased infection rates, MGM has postponed the movie once again. The news is, sadly, not at all surprising. Bond is a huge moneymaker abroad, with 72.6% of the $1.111 billion gross for the last entry in the series, 2015’s Spectre, coming from the global box office. It makes se...
As of today, nearly 210,000 Americans have died of COVID-19 and millions more are still unsure about the longterm repercussions the novel virus will have on their bodies. Meanwhile, the economy has cratered and tens of millions of Americans are out of work. The live music and film industries are largely shut down, and sports teams are playing inside of empty stadiums. And, tragically, there’s no end to the pandemic in sight. Despite this, Trump has routinely bragged about his administration’s response to the virus, going as far to give himself an “A+” letter grade. Asked if there was any area he felt he failed at, Trump identified only one — public relations — but he blamed the “fake news” for that. “I have fake news, you know, I can’t — you can’t convince them of anything, they’re a ...

Fans of Dexta Daps and Ikaya appeared to have a grand time on Sept. 26 and 27 at the reggae artists’ New York and New Jersey shows, dancing and singing along. But after videos of the seemingly crowded outdoor events surfaced on Instagram — while the coronavirus pandemic is ongoing — the criticism started rolling in. “The promoters, @dextadaps and all others directly responsible for the staging of this event during a deadly pandemic are a bunch of dummies,” an Instagram user commented on one of the videos from the Brooklyn performance. “Trust me, the city will hit you all with some hefty fines..not excluding possible jail time…” Now, Ikaya — the Jamaican reggae, R&B and dancehall singer who is featured on Daps’ song “Nose...
Source: ALEX EDELMAN / Getty Dave Chappelle’s socially distanced comedy shows are no more thanks to Rona. Despite practicing all of the safety measures to ensure that guests, workers, and talent don’t catch the highly contagious virus, COVID-19 still found a way to shut down the Chappelle’s socially distanced shows. Page Six reports the remaining four shows have been canceled after one of the acts on the bill tested positive for the coronavirus. Per Page Six: “Page Six has learned that the comedy legend’s “Intimate Socially Distanced Affair” series in Yellow Springs, Ohio — which has seen performances by Chris Rock, David Letterman, Jon Stewart, Tiffany Haddish, Michael Che, Sarah Silverman, Louis CK, and Michelle Wolf, among others — was shut down hours before Friday’s installment because...

South Africa’s defence minister has been reprimanded and will lose three months of salary after ruling party officials took an air force plane to Zimbabwe earlier this month, President Cyril Ramaphosa said on Sunday. The African National Congress (ANC) delegation’s presence aboard the flight sparked widespread criticism over the use of state resources for party business. Their trip to Harare was for crisis talks with Zimbabwe’s Zanu-PF ruling party aimed at helping tackle the country’s political and economic woes. But they tagged along aboard Defence Minister Nosiviwe Mapisa-Nqakula’s plane, rather than travelling privately. She had a scheduled meeting in Zimbabwe to discuss regional issues following a recent summit of the Southern African Development Community bloc. Mapisa-Nqakula will no...
Under normal circumstances, cartoon characters do not attend live sporting events. But the novel coronavirus has robbed us of normal circumstances, and so it makes sense that the denizens of South Park should appear as cutouts in the stands of a Denver Broncos football game. Via Sports Illustrated, the September 27th tussle between Denver and the Tampa Bay Buccaneers also featured more than 5,000 flesh-and-blood fans. They watched their hometown heroes get shellacked by Tom Brady’s Bucs, 28-10. Surely their attention occasionally wandered from the gruesome on-field product to the colorful occupants of the south stands. According to Broncos’ reporter Benjamin Albright, every resident of South Park was represented. As pictures demonstrate, the illustrated fans a...
There’s something in the UK’s water that has prominent musicians from Oasis’ Noel Gallagher to The Stone Roses’ Ian Brown spouting nonsensical conspiracy theories about the pandemic — or, as Brown calls it, “the plandemic”. Veteran troubadour Van Morrison, who previously likened the concept of socially-distanced concerts as “pseudo-science” stemming from “fascist” government overreach, is now taking matters into his own hands with a series of newly written anti-lockdown songs. On the not-so-subtly titled “Born To Be Free”, Morrison laments about how the government is “cramping my my style.” He goes on to sing, “The new normal is not normal/ It’s no kind of normal at all/ Everyone seemed to have amnesia just trying to remember the Berlin Wall.” Morrison has two more protest songs on the way...
