Tonight, our June Artist of the Month Becca Mancari is taking part in the 615 Pride livestream benefit for Nashville Launch Pad. The concert event is set to kick off at 8:00 p.m. ET/7:00 p.m. CT, and you can watch it over at the Consequence of Sound Facebook page. Joining Mancari will be fellow Nashville residents The Blam Blams, Lord Goldie, and Kelly Hoppenjans. It’s all taking place at Helping Our Music Evolve (HOME), a non-profit community space where local musicians can record, rehearse, create content, and more. While safely socially distancing, the venue allows the multi-camera livestream feel more like an in-person concert experience than similar events, complete with full lighting and sound engineering. Depeche Mode Streaming LiVE SPiRiTS Concert Film for Free on YouTube
Beginning at 3:00 p.m. ET on Thursday, Depeche Mode will stream their new concert film LiVE SPiRiTS in its entirety for free on YouTube. Watch it below. LiVE SPiRiTS captures Depeche Mode’s 2018 concert in Berlin, Germany as part of their “Global Spirit Tour”. The film is also being packaged alongside the group’s new documentary, Depeche Mode: SPiRiTS in the Forest, which will be available on Blu-ray and DVD beginning tomorrow (June 25th). Directed by Anton Corbijn, the documentary was originally screened in 3,000 threaters across 80 countries last year. Depeche Mode released their latest album, Spirit, in March 2017. Paul McCartney, Dave Grohl, Arcade Fire Take Part in Preservation Hall Livestream Benefit: Watch
On Saturday night, as Donald Trump tried and failed to boost his own ego in Oklahoma, several of music’s biggest names got together virtually to support a cultural institution. New Orleans’ Preservation Hall Jazz Band held their ‘Round Midnight Preserves livestream benefit to raise funds for the Preservation Hall Foundation. The event was highlighted by a “headlining” performance of “When the Saints Go Marching In” featuring many of the night’s participants led by Paul McCartney. Macca actually played trumpet during the song, leaving much of the singing to the likes of Dave Grohl, Irma Thomas, Dave Matthews, My Morning Jacket’s Jim James, and Nathaniel Rateliff and members of The Night Sweats. Hannibal Buress to Stream New Comedy Special, Miami Nights, for Free
It might feel like there won’t be a lot worth celebrating this Independence Day, but Hannibal Buress will at least be here to make us laugh. The comedian has announced a new special called Miami Nights, which will stream for free on YouTube on July 3rd. The special will touch on Buress’ 2017 arrest for disorderly intoxication in Miami after he tried to ask a police officer to call him an Uber. Bodycam footage of the incident shows Buress insulting the officer in a joking manner, only to find himself in handcuffs with no explanations of charges and no Miranda warnings.
