The trend of charity livestream table reads is about to knock you back on your coal-mining asses. Jack Black has announced he’ll lead a reading of the pilot script for his failed 1999 comedy series Heat Vision and Jack. Written by Dan Harmon (Rick and Morty) and Rob Schrab (The Sarah Silverman Show) and directed by Ben Stiller, the Fox pilot Heat Vision and Jack is a wonderfully weird lo-fi vestige of the ’90s. It starred Black as Jack Austin, a former astronaut granted super-intelligence when his space capsule gets “inappropriately” close to the sun. The cast of Father of the Bride reunited for the first time in 25 years (!) on Friday. The all-star group of actors got back together for Father of the Bride Part 3 (ish), a “special sequel” that caught up with the Banks family over a Zoom call for a wedding-related announcement. Now, Beastie Boys are doing their part by sharing their final concert ever, their 2009 headlining performance at Bonnaroo, for free on YouTube all weekend long. Bonnaroo Announces Virtual ROO-ALITY Online Festival
In lieu of a physical festival this year, Bonnaroo has announced Virutal ROO-ALITY, a three-day livestream airing on YouTube. Taking place September 24th-26th beginning each day at 4:30 p.m. ET, the digital event will feature a mix of classic archival sets from past Bonnaroos alongside brand new performances. The archival performances include The White Stripes’ legendary 2007 headlining set; Beastie Boys’ 2009 appearance (which marked one of the group’s final live performances); and My Morning Jacket’s epic turn in 2011. Bonnaroovians will also be able to revisit sets from Metallica, The xx, Tears For Fears, James Brown, and Dave Matthews. Rihanna Reveals Announces 2020 Savage x Fenty Show with Travis Scott, Rosalía, More
Rihanna has announced the second annual Savage X Fenty lingerie fashion show. According to a new trailer, the event will stream through Amazon Prime on October 2nd and feature performances headlined by Travis Scott and Rosalía. Founded in 2018, Rihanna envisioned Savage X Fenty as a more inclusive underwear brand, with a wide-range of fabric colors to complement all skin tones and an expanded range of sizes. The first show took place last September during New York Fashion Week, and saw appearances by Migos and Halsey, among others. COVID-19 has thrown a wrench at one of the biggest holiday traditions in the US: the Macy’s Thanksgiving Day Parade. This afternoon, New York Mayor Bill de Blasio announced that the beloved holiday event will go virtual this year due to the ongoing coronavirus pandemic. “[The parade isn’t] a live parade, but something that will really give us that warmth and that great feeling we have on Thanksgiving day,” said the mayor. “It will not be the same parade we’re used to. Yesterday mark the one-year anniversary of the death of Daniel Johnston. In honor of his memory, Electric Lady Studios organized “Honey, I Sure Miss You”, a livestream tribute headlined by Phoebe Bridgers, Wilco’s Jeff Tweedy, and Beck. But as it turned out, Johnston himself stole the show in a previously-unreleased home video.
