Primus Announce Concert Livestream “Alive From Pachyderm Station”
Due to the coronavirus pandemic, Primus were forced to postpone their Rush tribute tour and other dates earlier this year. Now, to make it up to their fans, they’ve announced a “one-of-a-kind” virtual concert called “Alive From Pachyderm Station”. Their first live performance of 2020, the event will see Primus deliver a set from Les Claypool’s own California winery Claypool Cellars. Heck Yes! Napoleon Dynamite Cast to Reunite for Benefit Livestream
Warm up those pocket tater tots because the cast of Napoleon Dynamite is set to reunite for a special livestream next month. Officially dubbed “Cyber Dynamite”, the pre-recorded broadcast will feature Napoleon himself (Jon Heder), as well as class president Pedro (Efrem Ramirez), Uncle Rico (Jon Gries), and sideways ponytail’d gal pal Deb (Tina Majorino). Mean girl Summer (Haylie Duff) and Kip’s internet boo LaFawnduh (Shondrella Avery) are also expected to appear, as will a number of other “surprise” cast members. A liger perhaps? Queens of the Stone Age to Mark Bataclan Attack Anniversary with Concert Livestream and Fundraiser
This Friday, November 13th, will mark five years since the tragic Bataclan terrorist attack in Paris. A total of 89 people were killed during the concert headlined by Eagles of Death Metal. In remembrance of that fateful evening, Queens of the Stone Age will livestream previously unseen concert footage, and all proceeds will benefit those impacted by the attack. Frontman Josh Homme made the announcement on Twitter on Monday. Homme is a member of Eagles of Death Metal, but didn’t perform at the 2015 Bataclan concert. Even so, he clearly hasn’t forgotten the gravity of what transpired that night. Presented by Capital One, this year’s concert will look unlike any of the multi-city touring concert’s past, but the newly announced lineup is no less packed. Topping the 2020 Jingle Ball bill are Billie Eilish, Dua Lipa, and Harry Styles. Other expected performers include Sam Smith, Shawn Mendes, Doja Cat, Lewis Capaldi, and more. Grab your fake IDs and don’t forget the booze. The cast of Superbad is reuniting for a livestream watch party to raise money for the Democratic Party of Wisconsin. Seth Rogen and Jonah Hill broke the news on social media today in separate posts. “Wanna watch Superbad with me, Jonah Hill, Michael Cera, Bill Hader and MORE?? Well, you’re in luck!” tweeted Rogen, who co-wrote the script and starred as a cop. Pixar’s Soul to Skip Theaters for Exclusive Disney+ Release This Christmas
Disney has decided to skip a theatrical release for the Pixar film Soul, instead releasing it straight to Disney+ — at no additional cost. Originally scheduled for a June 19th release, the movie was delayed until November 20th due to the pandemic. As of Disney’s last round of schedule shifting, Soul still had that release date. However, since then, Regal Cinemas announced it would re-close all its theaters, and Universal moved its animated sequel The Croods: A New Age up from December 23rd to November. It seems the lack of domestic theater options and the new competition for screens led to Disney’s decision to push Soul to a digital debut on Christmas, December 25th. Trey Anastasio Announces Virtual Residency from New York’s Beacon Theatre
Trey Anastasio is bringing fans back to the Beacon. The Phish frontman has announced an eight-week virtual residency to be livestreamed from New York City’s iconic Beacon Theatre. Dubbed “The Beacon Jams”, the shows come in partnership with MSG Entertainment and Twitch. Every Friday from October 9th through November 27th, Anastasio will take the Beacon stage for performances that will be broadcast on his Twitch channel beginning at 8:00 p.m. ET.
