‘La Ultima Mision’: 5 Standout Moments From Wisin & Yandel’s Madison Square Garden Show

With their triumphant performance Saturday night (Oct. 8) in New York City, Wisin & Yandel displayed their formidable trajectory. Although they became reggaeton fixtures over two decades ago — including in the Big Apple, with performances in iconic clubs like Club Exit and Copacabana for the Latin American diaspora — their Madison Square Garden gig showcased their undisputed stature as legends of the genre.  Clad in Mad Max-esque gear, the Puerto Rican pair appeared onstage and enthralled for about two hours. Fresh off releasing their tenth — and perhaps final — album together, La Última Misión (The Last Mission), Wisin & Yandel performed a mix of classics and new songs from their latest release. Their high energy was felt on a thousand, complete with riveting pyrotechnic effe...

Willie Nelson’s Farm Aid Reveals Plans for ‘A Major Farmer Mobilization in Washington’ in March 2023

In advance of the annual Farm Aid benefit concert for family farmers in Raleigh, N.C., on Saturday (Sept. 24), the organization revealed plans for “a major farmer mobilization in Washington” in March 2023 to advocate for federal support of climate resilient agriculture. The march set for the week of March 6 would be “a mobilization the likes of which we have not seen since the 1970s, tentatively called Farmers for Climate, a rally for resilience,” announced Farm Aid cultural impact director Michael Stewart Foley during a live-streamed press conference that preceded the concert at the Coastal Credit Union Music Park at Walnut Creek. 5 Times Michael Bublé Reached ‘Higher’ as He Brought His ‘Higher’ Tour to L.A.

Michael Bublé engaged in a little market research on Friday (Sept. 23) as he brought his “Higher” tour to Crypto.com Arena in Los Angeles. He asked how many people were seeing him in concert for the first time. When a large percentage of the audience signaled that they were, in fact, first-timers, Bublé joked about what their preconceptions of him must be — the Christmas guy who would sing a set of ballads and polite toe-tappers like “Haven’t Met You Yet.” His show shattered those preconceptions. It’s a big, wildly varied show, and Bublé is a master showman. The term “Great American Songbook” long ago came to refer to a specific strain of American music — the timeless songs that were written by the likes of Cole Porter and Irving Berlin from the 1930s to the ’50s. Bublé sang...

Kendrick Lamar’s U.S. Tour Comes to a Cinematic Close with Fourth Straight Sold-Out Show at Crypto.com Arena

Outside of the Crypto.com Arena on Saturday (Sept. 17), Los Angeles was in a frenzy. Bacon-wrapped hot dogs sizzled on grease-spattered portable grills, while a handful of street vendors eagerly flashed colorful Kendrick Lamar-themed bucket hats and t-shirts to whoever was willing to steal an unintentional glance. Crosswalks were in disarray, an outpouring of fans more consumed by their swelling anticipation for seeing Compton’s beloved on the last U.S. stop of his The Big Steppers Tour than the flashing orange stop signal.  Inside, the arena was a sea of black. While a Bad Bunny concert may boast loud getups of colorful patterns and barely-there bikini tops, mimicking the Puerto Rican star’s latest beach-themed offering, a pgLang endeavor encourages a far less vibrant palette: muted ...

SEVENTEEN’s ‘Be the Sun’ Tour Was the Collective Concert Experience We’ve Been Waiting For Since COVID

Explore Explore See latest videos, charts and news See latest videos, charts and news As various safety measures like masking and limited crowd interactions have understandably been at the forefront of artists’ and promoters’ minds, the final night of SEVENTEEN’s Be the Sun tour at Newark’s Prudential Center was a display in how audiences can reconnect with each other thanks to technology, production and, of course, the members that made up the K-pop boy band. What most clearly created the inclusive environment came thank...

Usher’s Las Vegas Residency: Photos From the Billboard Shoot

It was two days before the opening of My Way, Usher’s new, rebooted Las Vegas residency, and creative director Simon Hammerstein still had an important puzzle to solve. Like any artist who does a residency, Usher has a big catalog of hits to choose from — the trouble was choosing which one would end the show. In the afternoon, Hammerstein settled into an empty row of VIP seats toward the front of the Park MGM’s Dolby Live theater, next to production designer Paul Tate dePoo, who quietly argued for “Love in This Club.” “I feel like Vanna White trying to sell this pitch,” he said drolly, pulling the track up on his phone. “Can you just let go of that song?” Hammerstein said with mock desperation. Still, Hammerstein asked DJ Mars — a longtime Usher collaborator who would perform in a booth se...
