Two persons abducted in Ogun community

Two persons have been abducted in Omu, a community near Ofada town in Obafemi/Owode Local Government Area of the state. The spokesperson for the Ogun State Police Command, Abimbola Oyeyemi, confirmed the incident on Sunday. He explained that the abducted persons – a man and a woman – were on a visit to a farm in the area on Saturday when the incident occurred. Oyeyemi noted that following the incident, the command has launched a manhunt to track the perpetrators and rescue the victims from their abductors. He, however, stressed that no ransom has so far been demanded by the abductors to release their victims. Gunmen attack another Imo police station, kidnap one, injure others

Fear continues to pervade the atmosphere in Imo State as gunmen in the early hours of Thursday attacked the Mbieri Divisional Police Headquarters situated in the Mbaitoli Local Government Area of the state. Our correspondent gathered from an indigene of Mbieri that the fleeing gunmen struck around 1am and immediately released the suspects in custody in the police facility. Mother, two children burnt to death in Bauchi

A mother and her two children have been burnt to death in a fire disaster that occurred in Riban Garmu village, Dewu Ward in Kirfi Local Government Area of Bauchi State. Four others also sustained varying degrees of injuries. An eyewitness who refused to give his name said that the fire was suspected to be as a result of an electrical fault in the house which burnt it down. He said, “We suspect that there was a spark in the night while people were asleep and that might have caused the fire which burnt the four-bedroom house completely. “Four people sustained injuries and they were admitted at the Kirfi General Hospital where they are receiving treatment,” he said. The Rivers State Police Command has made clarifications regarding the killing of multiple persons including an unidentified chief in Luebe Community of Khana Local Government Area. Police spokesman Nnamdi Omoni, a Superintendent of Police (SP), made the clarifications on Thursday, following a report that a chief and eight others were killed in the community.
