Two persons abducted in Ogun community
Two persons have been abducted in Omu, a community near Ofada town in Obafemi/Owode Local Government Area of the state. The spokesperson for the Ogun State Police Command, Abimbola Oyeyemi, confirmed the incident on Sunday. He explained that the abducted persons – a man and a woman – were on a visit to a farm in the area on Saturday when the incident occurred. Oyeyemi noted that following the incident, the command has launched a manhunt to track the perpetrators and rescue the victims from their abductors. He, however, stressed that no ransom has so far been demanded by the abductors to release their victims. Anambra CP charges officers to protect themselves, resist further attacks
The Commissioner of Police in Anambra, Monday Kuryas, has charged the personnel to protect themselves against attacks by hoodlums as well as reclaim police facilities from them. Kurya gave the directive in a lecture held for the police management team, Area Commanders, Divisional Police Officers and Heads of Police Tactical Operational Units in the command. ASP killed, three policemen injured in Adamawa mob attack
A mob has killed an Assistant Superintendent of Police (ASP) and injured three other policemen during an attack in Adamawa State. The ASP, Ibrahim Abdullahi, and his three other colleagues were said to be on duty when they were attacked. Edo: Police charge 331 suspects to courts in two months
The Police Command in Edo on Wednesday disclosed that no fewer than 332 suspects have been charged to courts in the last two months. Mr Phillip Ogbadu, the Commissioner of Police in Edo, disclosed this at a media briefing in his office in Benin, on Wednesday. “From Feb. 5 till date, we have charged 332 suspects out of the 357 arrested within the period to various courts”, Ogbadu said. He explained that 58 suspects were arrested for alleged kidnapping, while 100 suspects were arrested for alleged cultism. Oyo: Police rescues three abducted women after four days in captivity
The Oyo State Police Command on Friday confirmed the release of the abducted victims at Onipe, a suburb along the Ijebu-ode/Idi-Ayunre axis of Oluyole Local Government Area of the state on Monday by unknown gunmen. Lagos: Councillors suspend council chairman for ‘fraud’
The Chairman, Surulere Local Government, Lagos State, Tajudeen Ajide, has been suspended for alleged financial impropriety. This is according to a letter sent to the Lagos State Commissioner of Police by the nine councillors at the local government. The suspension, according to the councillors, is sequel to a resolution dated April 9, 2021 wherein a vote of no confidence was passed in Ajide. Police in Ebonyi, Tuesday, repelled another attack by gunmen on another police station in the state. One of the assailants was allegedly killed in a shootout with the police. Newsmen reliably gathered that one of the gallant police officers, who repelled the attack, was injured and rushed to a hospital for treatment. Police arrest two ‘armed robbers’ in Lekki
The Anti Crime Patrol team attached to Ilasan Division of the Lagos State Police Command, Saturday, arrested two suspected armed robbers on Lekki-Epe Expressway by Jakande area of Lagos State.
