Peacock Spilled the Recipe for “Kevin’s Famous Chili” from The Office and No One Noticed

For years, Kevin Malone’s chili has remained perhaps the most famous meal in The Office history, and now, you can bring the storied stew to your own kitchen. One eagle-eyed Office fan noticed that the recipe to “Kevin’s Famous Chili” is listed in the terms and conditions of the sitcom’s exclusive streaming home, Peacock, meaning any amateur chef can make it for themselves. TikTok user @mckenziefloyd took to the app to share the discovery, which she said her boyfriend noticed while perusing the Peacock app: “I’m trying to figure out why the chili from The Office, the recipe, is on here in the terms of conditions with the instructions,” Floyd laughs in the clip. “Why was that necessary to put on here? And then it just goes back to the regular terms and conditions.” If you’ll recall...

John Mulaney’s Fifth Go-Around as SNL Host Proves to Be a Good Variant

This weekend’s John Mulaney-hosted episode of Saturday Night Live felt more affected than usual by outside circumstances—and not, thankfully, in the sense that it featured topical yuks in a political cold-open sketch. On the contrary, the show opened on a surprisingly somber note with a performance from the Ukrainian Chorus Dumka of New York, singing the Ukraine national anthem. While sometimes SNL’s dips into sincerity can feel maudlin, this time it was a blessed relief that the show didn’t feel the need to drag out any “doddering Biden” or “crazy Putin” gags. If anyone was counting on Mulaney to lighten the mood, well, he did, but on his own terms, performing a stand-up monologue where he discussed his recent off-camera struggles with addiction. Mulaney’s showcase monologue displaced the...

Bill Murray to Star in Aziz Ansari’s Debut Feature Film

Aziz Ansari is jumping from TV to the silver screen. The actor and Master of None co-creator is making his directorial debut with an as-yet untitled Searchlight Pictures, and he’s tapped Bill Murray to star in the lead role. Ansari will have lots on his plate for this project: In addition to directing, he’s writing the script, co-producing alongside Youree Henley, and acting in it. The project is based on American surgeon and New Yorker contributor Atul Gawande’s Being Mortal: Medicine and What Matters in the End, a 2014 nonfiction book about aging, end-of-life care, and striving for wellbeing over survival. Though not much is known right now about the film’s plot, Searchlight is banking on both Ansari and Murray’s background in comedy to help sell this examination of mortality. ...

Daniel Radcliffe is “Weird Al” Yankovic in First Photo from Upcoming Biopic

Daniel Radcliffe is set to star as “Weird Al” Yankovic in an upcoming biopic about the legendary musician, comedian, and parodist. With filming now underway, Roku has shared the first photo of Radcliffe in character. The film, aptly titled WEIRD: The ‘Weird Al’ Yankovic Story, was written by Yankovic himself alongside Eric Appel, who will also serve as the film’s director. The biopic “holds nothing back, exploring every facet of Yankovic’s life, from his meteoric rise to fame with early hits like ‘Eat It’ and ‘Like a Surgeon’ to his torrid celebrity love affairs and famously depraved lifestyle,” promises a press release. “WEIRD: The Al Yankovic Story takes audiences on a truly unbelievable journey through Yankovic’s life and career, from gifted child prodigy to the greatest musical legend ...

Dave Renewed for Season 3 by FX Networks

Dave has been renewed for a third season by FX Networks. The series centers around the eponymous Dave Burd as an exaggerated version of his rap alter ego Lil Dicky while he attempts to fulfill his destiny as the next great legend in the pantheon of hip-hop… if only he could actually get around to making his debut album. Produced in part by Scooter Braun, the show also stars Davionte “GaTa” Ganter (a.k.a. Lil Dicky’s real-life hype man) as well as Taylor Misiak, Andrew Santino, Travis “Taco” Bennett of Odd Future, and Christine Ko with Benny Blanco, Gina Hecht, and David Paymer in recurring roles. Dave has become one of the hottest places on TV to find an A-list cameo, and featured everyone from Kendall Jenner and Hailey Bieber to Doja Cat, Kareem Abdul-Jabbar, and Lil Nas X in its star-stu...

Dog Review: Channing Tatum and His Canine Co-Star Anchor a Surprisingly Emotional Road Trip Tale

The Pitch: Let’s begin this review with what the dog lovers want to know first. Spoiler alert: Nothing bad happens to the dog. There’s some minor peril, and the climax of the film is tough to watch. But no Marley and Me-esque tragedy lurks in the final act. At the end of the film, the dog is fine. With that out of the way, let’s talk about Dog, the often-charming road trip dramedy that marks Channing Tatum‘s (co)-directing debut, starring Tatum alongside a trio of Belgian Malinoises for a darker and more emotionally affecting film than you might expect from its marketing. What the Trailers Don’t Mention: All the advertising for Dog sells a pretty authentic version of the film as a whole: Former Army Ranger Jackson Briggs (Tatum) gets tasked with a new mission: Bring a former Army Ranger do...

Megan Thee Stallion, Nathan Lane, Bowen Yang, and Megan Mullally Join A24’s Fucking Identical Twins

In a collaboration we certainly couldn’t have predicted, musical theater icon Nathan Lane and recent college graduate Megan Thee Stallion will be joining Megan Mullally and SNL’s Bowen Yang in Fucking Identical Twins, a forthcoming musical comedy from A24. Described as a “subversive spin” on The Parent Trap, Fucking Identical Twins stars and is written by comedians Aaron Jackson and Josh Sharp. It’s based on the duo’s two-man stage show, which they premiered at New York’s iconic Upright Citizens Brigade Theatre in 2014. Larry Charles (Borat) will direct the film, which is currently in production. Similar to the 1961 film (and the 1998 masterpiece of a remake), Fucking Identical Twins follows two rival businessmen who realize they’re, well, fucking identical tw...

The Larry David Story Coming to HBO

HBO has announced a new two-part documentary on Larry David, which will premiere Tuesday, March 1st at 9:00 p.m. ET/PT. The Larry David Story is directed by David’s longtime friend and partner Larry Charles. The documentary finds the two men in conversation, as David “gets candid about his personal and professional highs and lows, from his humble beginnings as an unfunny Brooklyn kid to becoming America’s favorite misanthrope.” David will discuss Seinfeld, Curb Your Enthusiasm, parenthood, and even metaphysics, according to HBO, which describes the doc as “genuine, hilarious, and eye-opening.” “I’m a total fraud,” David admits in a trailer for The Larry David Story. The Curb outlet, for me, is this guy who I want to be.” He’s completely honest, just the opposite of who I am.” Advertisement...

LeVar Burton Encourages Kids to Read Banned Books: “That’s Where the Good Stuff Is”

Though LeVar Burton hasn’t hosted Reading Rainbow since it ended in 2006, he’s still finding ways to encourage young children to pick up a book. In light of recent book bans across certain schools in the US, Burton appeared on The Daily Show with Trevor Noah with some sage advice: Read forbidden literature. The book ban outrage came to a head last month when a Tennessee school board voted to ban Maus — Art Spiegelman’s Pulitzer Prize-winning graphic novel based on his father’s experience at Auschwitz — claiming it contained material that was inappropriate for students. While classics like the Harry Potter series and Huckleberry Finn have all been subjected to some silly schoolwide bans in the past, Black authors have been particularly targeted, with LGBTQ and ...

The Marvelous Mrs. Maisel Season 4 Review: More Mediocre Than Magical

The Pitch: When we last saw the titular character in Amy Sherman-Palladino’s Amazon Prime comedy, things were looking quite bad for her. Despite killing at The Apollo, Miriam “Midge” Maisel (Rachel Brosnahan) has been fired from Shy Baldwin’s tour, thanks to some jokes that alluded a bit too closely to his status as a closeted gay man. This left her abandoned on the tarmac with Susie (Alex Borstein), who, unbeknownst to Midge, had lost all of Midge’s hard-earned money thanks to a combination of gambling problems and general managerial irresponsibility. Meet Me on the West Side: Season 4 of The Marvelous Mrs. Maisel picks up shortly after these events in a familiar setting — Midge, onstage, cigarette in hand, seemingly killing at a club in The Village. The cliffhanger of Season 3 seemed to ...

Space Force Season 2 Review: A Big Improvement That Leaves You Wanting More

The Pitch: The original pitch was simple: In 2019, the 45th President of the United States announced a plan for a Space Force branch of the U.S. military. To Steve Carell and Greg Daniels (who previously worked together on The Office), that sounded pretty ridiculous, so they successfully pitched Netflix on a satirical version of what such a “space force” would look like, with Carell as the general in charge. Unfortunately, Season 1 of Netflix’s Space Force… didn’t quite work. Despite the assembly of a surprise-packed ensemble, including awkward comedy G.O.A.T. Carell, human live wire Ben Schwartz, secret MVP Tawny Newsome, and wild card John Malkovich, there was something just off in how the writing and acting and directing jelled together — and to the credit of Carell and Daniels, they no...
