Bruce Springsteen Joins Coldplay for Two Songs in New Jersey

Does it get any more Jersey than this? Last night at Coldplay‘s Music of the Spheres show at MetLife Stadium, Chris Martin and company brought up New Jersey’s favorite son, Bruce Springsteen, to cover a pair of his songs. And those songs? “Working on a Dream” and “Dancing in the Dark.” “Chris [Martin] said he had this song tattooed on his arm for a while, so I guess I’ve got to sing it with him,” the Boss told the crowd. So that they did. Springsteen’s 2009 song was performed acoustically on the circular stage in the middle of the stadium. As for “Dancing in the Dark,” the Boss handled vocals and acoustic guitar while Coldplay singer Chris Martin helped out on vocals while performing on piano. David Guetta Unlocks Groovy Potential of Coldplay and BTS’ Intergalactic Ballad, “My Universe”

Coldplay and BTS‘ intergalactic love letter “My Universe” received a new dance-driven remix from superstar producer David Guetta.   Guetta’s remix is a transformative in all the right ways, an interpretation of the original song that frames the music in a new light without over-complication. Guetta’s work is quite complementary of the source material, as he maintains the track’s glossy synth textures throughout. In contrast, his remix deviates from the slow-burning, serenading tempo of the original with an invigorating electronic format that employs pumping house drums and arpeggiated dance melodies. As the grooves subside in the verses, Guetta leaves ample room for listeners to take in Coldplay and BTS’ cathartic vocal delivery...

Watch Coldplay Cover Pearl Jam’s ‘Nothingman’ at Seattle Concert

Coldplay christened Seattle’s Climate Pledge Arena last night, and Chris Martin took the opportunity to pay homage to the city’s hometown heroes Pearl Jam by covering their Vitalogy song “Nothingman.” “So, ‘cause we’re here in Seattle, we wanted to pay tribute to one of the bands we fell in love with when we were just young teenagers in the ‘90s,” he explained to the crowd before urging fans not to upload footage to YouTube because this was not going to a pristine rendition of the 1994 track. “This is a 44-year-old man remembering how much he fell in love with Pearl Jam in 1991. If you told that kid he’d be here singing this song, he would’ve said ‘You sure that’s a good idea?’ And I’d say ‘Maybe not, but I’m doing it.’” Martin then brought up drummer Will Champion to play p...

Coldplay’s Music of the Spheres Mixes Anthems With Space Junk

A weary voice actor steps into a Hollywood studio soundbooth. Maybe it’s Will Arnett. It’s probably Will Arnett. Will Arnett sips his coffee, slides his headphones on and speaks into the microphone, addressing his producer: “Alright, Frankie, what are we hawking today? More Reese’s cups?” “No, Will, we’ve got something new for ya. It’s, it’s … a Coldplay ad.” Will Arnett closes his eyes and pinches the bridge of his nose. “Yeah, I know, they got a new record or something” Frankie says. “Let’s try a take. Maybe do it like a ‘90s movie trailer guy. You can even do the LEGO Batman voice!” “Jesus Christ,” Will Arnett mutters, glancing at his watch. “Okay, let’s do this.” The tape rolls, he begins. “Coming this fall: THEY are the most successful pop-rock band of the 21st Century. HE’S produced ...
