Leeds boss kicks against fans returning to stadiums

Marcelo Bielsa has demanded Premier League chiefs block fans returning to grounds until all 20 top-flight clubs can reopen their turnstiles. Under the new Covid tier system, half of Premier League clubs will still not be allowed supporters from Wednesday, while the other ten can have 2,000. Manchester United have made an approach for RB Leipzig defender Dayot Upamecano. United have been shaky at the back all season, and Ole Gunnar Solskjaer is keen to strengthen his defence at the next available opportunity. Frenchman Upamecano is contracted with Leipzig until 2023, meaning the German club are under no pressure to sell. FIFA have called on the Ivory Coast Football Federation (FIF) to halt its election campaign after Didier Drogba’s bid was rejected, a letter seen by AFP on Friday showed. A third first-team player from Brighton & Hove Albion tested positive for COVID-19 on Saturday, the Premier League club’s chief executive Paul Barber has confirmed.
