True to form, Dirtybird has recruited the finest in house music and beyond for the Orlando fest, which will operate at a reduced capacity in the name of public safety. Scheduled to perform are TOKiMONSTA, Mr. Carmack, Walker & Royce, Shiba San, VNSSA, Soul Clap and, of course, beloved Dirtybird co-founders Claude VonStroke and Worthy, among many others. Music producers can now glimpse into the weird and wonderful musical mind of Claude VonStroke, Dirtybird‘s papa bird, who has been pushing the envelope of house music for years with his unique approach to production. The famed producer and DJ dropped his new sample pack today, dubbed “Claude’s Construction Vol 1.” The bundle contains all the bells and whistles necessary for artists to craft their own twists on VonStroke’s quirky, forward-thinking sound. And that’s exactly what he wants. In addition the sample pack, he announced a special beat-making contest for music producers, who can win a free yearlong Birdfeed subscription for free, an official release on the Birdfeed subsidiary record label, and plays on DIRTYBIRD LIVE TV and the Birdh...
Deathpact is paving their own way in the industry. In a truly unprecedented move, the mysterious masked maven is dropping a slew of remixes of never-heard-before Deathpact IDs prior to the release of the originals. REAPER delivered the first official “ID” remix just yesterday, and the next to take on the feat is none other than Dirtybird head honcho, Claude VonStroke. The remix for the undisclosed ID is dark and hypnotic, keeping on-brand for Deathpact releases. VonStroke incorporates a robotic element into the production, filling it with sporadic breaks and vocoded vocal chops. It has a downtempo beat that slowly builds to fully engulf the listener into a mesmeric trance. Fans have a lot to look forward to from Deathpact. Over the course of the next few months...
In the dawn of virtual music festivals, it seems as if a new livestream sprouts from the rotted roots of the pandemic-stricken live music industry every day. From small-scale DJ sets to massive, full-fledged digital music festivals, livestreamed concerts have proven their place in the contemporary music landscape, and they’re not going anywhere anytime soon. Another virtual music fest called Abracadabra Festival has now risen from the ashes of the COVID-19 wreckage. The new four-day streaming event, which doubles as an environmental fundraiser, shared its lineup today ahead of its kickoff at 6:30PM ET (3:30PM PT). Joining Diplo and Tycho at the top of the flier is none other than Snoop Dogg, who is DJing as “DJ Snoopadelic.” Snoop made his DJ debut back in 2018 ...

With everyone sequestered and self-quarantining due to the coronavirus, we’ve asked our favorite artists to come up with playlists that keep you entertained. Here is producer and Dirtybird Records boss Claude VonStroke: Yesterday I almost lost it trying to set up my third livestream of the day. This is the new world we are living in right now, becoming YouTube hosts instead of music producers. I feel kind of trapped in this content creation vortex right now, but I’m also loving all this time I have in the studio. I have the deepest respect for anybody releasing new music right now especially in the underground dance community. There are no clubs and no festivals so the tracks have no “life” outside of streaming and fans listening to live DJ sets. Artist intuition tells us to not release an...
It’s not every day you get to work with a friend you’ve known for over 25 years, but that’s the case for Claude VonStroke and Marc Houle, who have released their first collaboration, titled “Fly Guy.” With VonStroke growing up in Detroit and Houle just across the river in Windsor, their friendship blossomed with a shared love for music. They used to trade software and sample CDs together, unknowingly building the foundation for two prolific careers in house and techno, respectfully. You can hear the chemistry at work on “Fly Guy,” smoothly melding the two artists’ stylings effortlessly. Houle had sent over an old file to his longtime friend, but they soon realized it needed to be brought up to 2020 standards. While the track stays true ...
