The Delta State Police Command on Thursday said operatives have uncovered a factory where fake wine was being produced for public consumption. Acting Public Relations Officer of the Command, DSP Bright Edafe, who made this known in Asaba, said the suspected sole manufacturer of the fake wine was now cooling his heels in police custody. Edafe said operatives of the State Anti-Cult Unit (SACU) made the breakthrough during a sting operation in collaboration with civilian anti-cult volunteer corps. The Nigeria Labour Congress (NLC) has resolved to declare an industrial action nationwide if the Kaduna State government goes ahead with its plans to sack civil servants. The NLC President, Ayuba Wabba, disclosed this in an exclusive interview with newsmen on Monday. The National Broadcasting Commission (NBC) has directed Channels TV and Inspiration FM Lagos to pay a fine N5 million each for infractions of the Nigeria Broadcasting Code. Prof. Armstrong Idachaba, the Acting Director-General of the commission, announced this in a statement made available to newsmen on Thursday in Abuja. Idachaba explained that NBC on Monday, April 26, served Channels TV a letter indicating the station’s culpability and liability for infractions of the Code in respect to its broadcast of “Politics Today” of Sunday, April 25.
