Peter Etebo named in Stoke City’s retained list for 2020/21 season
Super Eagles midfielder Oghenekaro Etebo has been included in Stoke City’s retained list for the 2020/21 season. Etebo joined LaLiga club Getafe on a six-month loan deal in January after falling down the pecking order under new manager Michael O’Neill. The combative midfielder featured in 11 league games for Stoke City before the switch. Getafe hold an option to sign the 24-year-old on a permanent transfer at the end of the season. Etebo has impressed during his stint at Getafe, scoring once in 10 league outings. The former Warri Wolves star has however missed the Azulones’ last three games due to injury. EFCC: Court dismisses charges, acquits ex-NMA chairman, others
Justice Efe Ikponwonba of Edo State High Court sitting in Benin City, yesterday, dismissed the charges brought against former Chairman, Nigerian Medical Association (NMA), Edo State branch, Dr. Emmanuel Ighodaro, and two other executive members by the Economic Financial Crime Commission (EFCC). It could be recalled that EFCC had arraigned in January 2018, Dr. Ighodaro and four others namely Dr. Anthony Owolabi, Dr. Quincy Atoghengbe, Dr. Raymond Ogieva, and Dr. Oseremen Gabriel Ogbebor, for alleged to have conspired to commit felony, punishable under Section 516 of the Criminal Code CAP 48 Laws of Bendel State of Nigeria as applicable to Edo State. Odion Ighalo has been nominated for Manchester United’s goal of the month award for June. Ighalo’s second half strike in Saturday’s Emirates FA Cup 2-1 win against Norwich City is nominated along six other impressive goals. Anthony Martial (all three goals) against Sheffield United, Harry Maguire’s winning strike against Norwich City, Mason Greenwood’s opener versus Brighton & Hove Albion and Bruno Fernandes’ second versus Brighton are also in the running for the award.
