DallasK Nabs Production Credit On Christina Aguilera and Ozuna’s Collaboration, “Santo”

DallasK has netted yet another high-profile production credit to his name with the release of Christina Aguilera and Ozuna’s brass-heavy reggaetón smash, “Santo.” The Spanish-language single is DallasK’s latest in a growing list of production and compositional credits he’s amassed amongst contemporary music artists. Electronic dance music fans certainly know him best for his reputation as an electro house dynamo, a reputation he earned in the early days of his career with tracks like “Area51” with Hardwell, “Show Me” alongside Tiësto, and the anthemic “Crash 2.0” with Adventure Club. As EDM increasingly became radio-friendly material throughout the 2010s, the crossover between the electronic and pop music worlds became more ...

The 20 Best Rock Songs by Pop Stars

Olivia Rodrigo may be a teenage pop star who works for Disney and first scaled the Hot 100 with a piano-driven ballad, but her second No. 1 of 2021, “Good 4 U,” is a surprisingly feisty pop-punk song. And Sour’s even harder-rocking opener “Brutal” is currently ascending Billboard’s Alternative Airplay chart. Rock music has been deeply intertwined with American pop ever since early rockers like Little Richard and Bill Haley started scaling the charts. But since the ‘80s, Top 40 radio has largely favored sleeker tracks with synthesizers, drum machines, and influences from genres like dance music, R&B, and hip-hop, with only occasional bursts of electric guitar and live drums. Plenty of rockers have become pop stars, from Pat Benatar to Bruce Springsteen, but there are also pop stars who ...

My Question to the Early 2000s – Why Did We Dress Like This?

The early 2000s was a strange time for pop culture. A time where women kissing was seen as shocking (Britney, Christina, and Links”>Madonna at the 2003 VMAs), but using people and pets as accessories wasn’t ( Links”>Gwen Stefani‘s L.A.M.B, and Links”>Paris Hilton‘s Tinkerbell). The early aughts was bizarre, for sure, especially between 2003 and 2006, which created some of the worst personal style of the past century. Yeah, it was that bad, which is why we absolutely love it. Early 2000s fashion sense might be trash, but it was totally iconic. We had a strange obsession with really long torsos. Not sure where that came from, but all signs seem to point to the debut of The Simple Life in 2003. Paris Hilton made Juicy Couture track suits, tiny dogs...
