Robert De Niro, Chris Rock, Anya Taylor-Joy Join David O. Russell’s Star-Studded New Movie

The new David O. Russell film has just become an A-list bonanza. On Thursday, it was confirmed that Robert De Niro, Chris Rock, and our 2020 Performer of the Year Anya Taylor-Joy have signed on for the film. So too have Michael Shannon, Mike Myers, Andrea Riseborough, Matthias Schoenaerts, and Alessandro Nivola. All of those stars will be joining Christian Bale, Margot Robbie and John David Washington in the as-yet-untitled film. Russell and his team are still keeping details about the plot confidential, but anonymous sources who spoke with Collider last year say that it apparently deals with an unlikely friendship between a doctor and a lawyer. Michael B. Jordan was originally slated to be part of the cast, but Washington replaced him last fall for reasons that are still un...

Chris Rock to Release “Extended Cut” of Netflix Special Tamborine

When Chris Rock released his Netflix stand-up special Tamborine in 2018, he managed to garner a whopping 100% score on Rotten Tomatoes — a rare accomplishment for a film, never mind a comedy routine. Now, Rock is treating fans to even more of those critically lauded jokes with Chris Rock: Total Blackout, The Tamborine Extended Cut, which hits the streamer next week. The Tamborine Extended Cut boasts 27 minutes of previously unreleased footage from Rock’s original Grammy-nominated special. The new clips — which include never-before-seen jokes, behind-the-scenes footage, and various interviews — will touch on race, fatherhood, and politics. Because they’re interwoven throughout the stand-up special, Netflix is calling it a repackaged “remix” of the initial release. To hype up the extended cu...

Chris Rock, Sarah Silverman, Tiffany Haddish, More Celebrities Get Naked in Voting PSA: Watch

Chris Rock, Sarah Silverman, Mark Ruffalo, and more celebrities have literally stripped down to be “completely butt-ass naked,” to quote Tiffany Haddish, for a new PSA video about voting. In the clip, titled “These Naked Celebs Have an Important Message for Voters”, a dozen famous actors, comedians, and models come together to inform viewers about “naked ballots,” a technical term for improperly filled-out ballots that require multiple envelopes. Some key states in the upcoming presidential election, such as Pennsylvania, have introduced a new rule where absentee and mail-in ballot voters must use both envelopes included with their ballot when submitting their vote. If they don’t, their votes will be automatically void. To help explain the importance of voting correctly to a...

Chris Rock & Megan Thee Stallion ‘SNL’ Most Watched Season Premiere In 4 Years, Issa Rae To Host

Source: NBC / Getty Things have started out great for Saturday Night Live. This past weekend’s episode, hosted by Chris Rock and with musical guest Megan Thee Stallion, was the most-watched season premiere in for years. [embedded content] According to Deadline, SNL‘s season premiere drew and 7.765 million total viewers which besides earned it a spot as the second-most-watched episode in three years, just behind Eddie Murphy’s return on Dec. 21, 2019. Not too shabby. Interestingly, Murphy’s episode was also a comedian/rapper combo with Lizzo as the musical guest. Clearly, it works. Megan Thee Stallion’s performance of “Savage” has been receiving rave reviews as she used her time on stage to advocate for Black women while dragging Kentuck Attorney General Daniel Cameron for the lack of justi...

Chris Rock Hosting SNL Season Premiere With Megan Thee Stallion as Musical Guest

Like all other live shows, Saturday Night Live had to make due earlier this year with socially-distanced episodes. That changes when the new season begins. Chris Rock will host the first in-studio episode since the pandemic first hit. Megan Thee Stallion will be the musical guest to begin the 46th season on October 3. This is the third time Rock will return to SNL as a host (he was a cast member from 1990-1993) and Megan Thee Stallion’s first proper appearance on the sketch comedy show — she popped up with Chance the Rapper last year on “Handsome.” As if that wasn’t enough, Jim Carrey will also feature as Democratic presidential hopeful Joe Biden in the run-up to the election — kicking off what’s sure to be a politically charged month. Rock will also star in the up...

Chris Rock to Host SNL’s First Live Episode Since Pandemic

Saturday Night Live will return on October 3rd with its first new live episode since the onset of the coronavirus pandemic last March. Such a momentous occasion calls for an equally momentous host, so Lorne Michaels has called upon former SNL cast member Chris Rock. Since departing the show in 1993, Rock has only hosted SNL twice — once in 1996, and again in 2014. In recent years, however, he’s made several notable cameos as a guest on episodes hosted by Eddie Murphy, Adam Sandler, and Dave Chappelle. Now, Rock will get once again his own turn at hosting. He’ll be joined by Megan Thee Stallion, who will serve as the evening’s musical guest. The “Savage” rapper will be making her SNL debut. As previously reported, SNL’s entire cast from last season is returning for Season 47. Additionally, ...

Chris Rock Blames Nancy Pelosi and the Democrats for Pandemic

Despite being a man-child prone to trivial temper tantrums, Donald Trump has remained mostly untouchable during his presidency, never once taking the fall for one of his many blunders. Late last year, House Speaker Nancy Pelosi and the Democrats tried to hold him accountable in a grand impeachment process. However, for all its bells and whistles, their attempt ultimately went nowhere. Now, in a new interview, Chris Rock has criticized Pelosi for focusing too much attention on Trump’s impeachment hearings instead of on the deadly coronavirus, which began taking hold in late February/early March. Trump, a child-like mouthpiece for the GOP, was not worth the time and effort, contends Rock, who went on to directly blame Pelosi and her fellow Democratic politicians for letting the pandemic rava...

Dave Chappelle, Chris Rock & Jim Carrey United For A Private Stand-Up Show

Source: Supplied by WENN.com / WENN Somewhere out there a small group of lucky people witnessed one of the greatest shows on earth. Yesterday (July 29), Chris Rock took to his Instagram page to reveal that he joined Dave Chappelle for his Dave Chappelle & Friends: A Talk With Punchlines, and blessed 100 socially distant audience members with a comedy set for the ages. And if that wasn’t an amazing enough duo for the night, Rock eventually FaceTimed Jim Carrey into the set much to the delight of the crowd in Ohio. The invite-only show on tour has been kept as secretive as the Illuminati thus far. But Rock’s IG post finally shed a little light on how incredible it must be to be in the audience to watch these two comic legends share the same space at the same time. Unfortunately, the cont...

Dave Chappelle, Chris Rock, Jim Carrey Team Up for Intimate, Socially-Distant Standup Show

A few lucky people in Ohio got quite the treat when comedy legends Dave Chappelle, Chris Rock, and Jim Carrey (or at least, his face) appeared for a special standup performance. It happened as part of the ongoing summer series “Dave Chappelle & Friends: A Talk with Punchlines”. The outdoor events are invite-only, socially distanced, and limited to about 100 people. The privacy of the shows has been part of their charm, and little has leaked in the way of photos or clips. It was Rock who broke the embargo, sharing two pictures from the secretive event on Instagram earlier today. One shows him dapping elbows with Chappelle in front of a plane. The other catches Carrey’s wide smile on FaceTime, as Chappelle holds a mic up to the cellphone. According to Rock, “Jim closed the show.” He said...
