“A Drug From God”: Listen to Chris Lake and Grimes’ Hedonistic House Anthem

House music virtuoso Chris Lake has unveiled “A Drug From God,” a hotly anticipated collaboration with Grimes. “A Drug From God” is hedonistic in nature, blending Lake’s signature down-and-dirty basslines with the sumptuous art pop sound of Grimes. Thanks to her madcap refrain, the song is subversive enough to infuriate EDM’s narrow-minded detractors and anthemic enough to become a festival favorite. In other words, “A Drug From God” is an instant classic for fans of dance music. Out today via a joint release between Astralwerks and Lake’s Black Book Records, it’s one of the biggest house records of 2021 and a dark horse for the Grammy Award for Best Dance/Electronic Recording. Anti Up Release Eccentric Banger, “Something’s About to go down”

Following a string of releases earlier this year, house music duo Anti Up are blasting off with their third single of 2021. The duo—comprising Chris Lake and Chris Lorenzo—have concocted a modish, out-of-this-world banger with “Something’s About to go down.” Immediately after pressing play, the track hurls you into the cosmos accompanied by the familiar four-on-the-floor opener. A voice mysteriously distorts as it warns you “something’s about to go down,” followed by the funkiest, alien-robot beats found anywhere outside this earth. The remaining three minutes are an acid trip-esque production of eccentric sounds and quirky synths. The concoction comes to a dramatic climax as the bionic, extraterrestrial drop descends upon earth ready to wreak havoc...
