NAF chief: Armed forces committed to end insecurity
The Chief of the Air Staff (CAS), Air Marshal Oladayo Amao, yesterday declared that the Armed Forces remained committed to ending the crisis of insecurity ravaging the nation. He said the expected delivery of six A-29 Super Tucano fighter jets by the United States in July and two drones from China, would be a “game changer” in the war against insurgency. NAF to conduct safety audit of operational, engineering units
Wikipedia The Chief of the Air Staff (CAS), Air Marshal Oladayo Amao, has constituted a committee of serving and retired senior officers to conduct a safety audit of all Nigerian Air Force (NAF) operational and engineering units. According to the Director of Public Relations and Information, Nigerian Air Force, Air Commodore, Edward Gabkwet, the committee is expected to, among other terms of reference, analyse safety reports from operational and engineering units, conduct safety evaluation of NAF units and recommend measures to enhance safety of operations in the units. The Defence Headquarters says the Air Component of Operation Hadarin Daji has eliminated scores of bandits in an air attack on their camp in part of Kwiambana Forest in Zamfara State on July 10. Military airstrike kills 30 bandits in Zamfara
The Defence Headquarters says the Air Component of Operation Hadarin Daji has killed no fewer than 30 bandits and destroyed their logistics store in air strikes conducted on Tuesday in Doumborou Forest area of Zamfara. The Coordinator, Defence Media Operations, Maj.-Gen. John Enenche, disclosed this in a statement on Wednesday in Abuja. Enenche said the operation was executed based on credible intelligence which revealed that a thatched structure within the forest was being used by the bandits to store their logistics.
