Report: Manchester United, Chelsea tracking the contract situation of £45m La Liga star

Manchester United and Chelsea are monitoring the contract situation of Barcelona winger Ousmane Dembele, according to Sport. The Frenchman has experienced an injury-plagued career with the Catalan giants, making just 93 appearances over the past three-and-a-half seasons. He continues to be highly-rated and Sport claims that he could be on the move in the summer if the Blaugrana are unable to renew his deal. His current contract expires in June 2022 and the club have yet to make any progress over an extension with the 2018 World Cup winner. His contract situation is bound to attract interest and it is reported that both United and Chelsea are keeping track on proceedings. SL view: Dembele has bagged a combined tally of 44 goals and assists in 93 games for the Blaugrana which is quite impres...

Chelsea manager needs a reality check – media have given him an easy ride – Opinion

Frank Lampard appears to have been taking lessons in diplomacy from Neil Lennon judging by his antics at his press briefing on Friday. Speaking ahead of the FA Cup tie against Luton Town, the Chelsea boss criticised the objectivity of journalist Liam Twomey from The Athletic. Lampard was asked a question by Twomey about the importance of having Petr Cech alongside in him during difficult times at Stamford Bridge. His answer had all the hallmarks of someone looking for any excuse to deflect attention from his team’s recent performances. “To be fair Liam, their confidence would be shot if they were to read some of the pieces you write at the minute,” said Lampard. “I read them and some of the confirmation bias that you reflect on after games – it’s almost like a social media pundit to try an...

Opinion: Tomori’s Chelsea exit a huge blunder

Chelsea F.C. have come to an agreement with AC Milan to loan out Fikayo Tomori with the option to buy him after the loan period. Tomori is a 23-year-old English defender who joined Chelsea’s academy at the age of eight. During his time with Chelsea’s senior team, he has been loaned out to Brighton & Hove Albion, Hull City, and Derby County. Tomori makes this loan move to Milan due to the lack of playing time having played only four matches this season. One of those matches was in the Premier League, in which he came off the bench against Liverpool back in September. Tomori will join Milan on a six-month loan deal until the end of the 2020/2021 season. At the end of the loan, Milan will have the option to buy him for £25 million, which suggests Chelsea are open to selling the playe...

Arsenal linked with Chelsea’s Champions League winning defender

Arsenal are considering a move for former Chelsea left-back and current Southampton defender Ryan Bertrand as they look to provide competition for Kieran Tierney. Mikel Arteta revealed this week the club are in the market for a left-back to compete with Tierney after Sead Kolasinac was allowed to join former club Schalke on loan. Arsenal are looking at a number of targets, but it is understood that Bertrand is one player being monitored. Bertrand is into the final six months of his contract with the Saints and has been in protracted talks over a new deal with the south coast club. The 31-year-old, who still lives near the Blues’ west London training ground and commutes to Southampton, was of interest to Leicester in the summer following the sale of Ben Chillwell and the Foxes have kept tab...

Chelsea transfer news latest: £35 million midfielder heads to Turkey on loan

Turkish side Kasımpaşa have today completed the signing of Chelsea flop Danny Drinkwater on a loan deal until the end of the current season, as announced on their official Twitter account. The former England international heads to the Süper Lig on a loan deal until the end of the season that offers him a much-needed opportunity to rediscover his form away from the watchful eyes of the Premier League. The midfielder, who arrived at Stamford Bridge from Leicester City in 2017, has failed to make an impact in his time in west London, making just 12 league appearances in what has been a disastrous spell for the former Manchester United youngster. Drinkwater enjoyed the best days of his career at Leicester City, where he won promotion to the top flight and a shock Premier League ...

Italian giants set to sign Chelsea ace on loan till the end of the season

Chelsea defender Fikayo Tomori set to join AC Milan on loan According to the reliable journalist, Fabrizio Romano on Twitter, Chelsea defender Fikayo Tomori is all set to join Italian giants AC Milan on loan. The Serie A giants were keen on securing the 23-year-old if they failed to land Strasbourg defender Mohamed Simakan. The 20-year-old is also on Chelsea’s radar. With RB Leipzig also now pursuing Simakan, competition for his signature has gotten tougher. Milan, meanwhile, appear to have settled for Tomori. The defender has found opportunities difficult to come by at Chelsea. So far he has made just four appearances and is the club’s fifth choice centre-back. He will now spend the remainder of the 2020/21 campaign at the San Siro. The Rossoneri are currently top of Serie A as they chase...

Gilmour and Hudson-Odoi start, Predicted Chelsea line-up (4-3-3) vs Fulham

Chelsea will make the short trip to Craven Cottage for this evening’s Premier League clash against Fulham. The Blues have been in a poor run of form over the past month, picking up only four points from their last six league games. They are currently ninth on the table after a three-match winless league streak and will be hoping to end the run against the Cottagers. Scott Parker’s side have been the draw specialists of late. They have played out five stalemates on the trot, but are still two points adrift of safety. Formation: 4-3-3 Predicted Line-up: Edouard Mendy has been an undisputed choice in goal since his arrival from Rennes in the summer. He is expected to start between the sticks ahead of Kepa Arrizabalaga once more. In the backline, Reece James should replace Cesar Azpilicueta in...

Sanson returned with a cameo appearance against Paris Saint-Germain in the Trophee des Champions this week and he is now on the radar of the Villans. Dean Smith’s side have impressed in the current league campaign and they have registered 26 points from 15 games, 11 more than they managed at the same point last term.
