Plateau teachers decry non-implementation of new minimum wage

Nigeria Union of Teachers The Nigerian Union of Teachers (NUT), Jos East Chapter, on Wednesday decried the non-implementations of the new minimum wage in the state. Its Chairman, Mr Samuel Agwom, voiced the teachers’ concerns when he led other NUT officials on a courtesy visit to the Speaker, Plateau House of Assembly, Mr Abok Ayuba. Zamfara APC expels Sirajo Garba, 125 others for violating NEC order

The Seven-Man Disciplinary Committee Set up by Zamfara State Chapter of the All Progressives Congress (APC), has expelled Sirajo Garba and 125 others for violating National Executive Council resolution of the party and anti-party activities. Garba, with membership registration 01002642 from Dodo Ward, Gusau Local Government Area, is the Chairman, Marafa’s faction of APC. Newsmen report that the National Secretariat of the APC had earlier directed the State Chapter of the party to set up a disciplinary committee to sanction any member who violated the directive of its NEC. Kwara commissioner urges students to adopt physiotherapy as career

The Commissioner for Health, Kwara, Dr Raji Razaq, has urged students to adopt Physiotherapy as a career choice. Newsmen reports that Physiotherapy is a science-based profession that deals with helping to restore movement and function when someone is affected by injury, illness or disability. The Commissioner made the call on Saturday, while receiving members of the Nigerian Society of Physiotherapy, Kwara State Chapter, in his office on a courtesy visit. NYCN decries lack of constituency projects in Nasarawa

The National Youth Council of Nigeria (NYCN), an umbrella body of all youth organisations in Nigeria, has decried lack of constituency project in Nasarawa West Senatorial District since 2011. The NYCN Chairman, Keffi Chapter, Alhaji Mohammad Idris, made the assertion in a statement made available to newsmen, on Sunday in Keffi. NANNM: 200 nurses in Abuja contract coronavirus

Over 200 nurses in the various medical facilities in the Federal Capital Territory (FCT) have contracted COVID-19, Nigerian Association of Nurses and Midwifery has stated. House of Reps wants local airlines to evacuate stranded Nigerians abroad

The House of Representatives has urged President Muhammadu Buhari to direct the Federal Ministries of Foreign Affairs and Aviation to ensure that local airlines enjoy the right of first refusal, where Nigerians need to be evacuated. This was sequel to the unanimous adoption of a motion by Rep. Mohammed Bello (APC-Kano) and eight other lawmakers, at the plenary on Tuesday.
