The All Progressives Congress, Ogun State Chapter, has expressed “deep sadness” over the demise of former Minister of Commerce and industries who was also a former distinguished Senator who represented the Ogun East Senatorial District, Senator Jubril Martins Kuye; describing his death as “the passing away of one of Ogun’s finest politicians.” In a statement in Abeokuta on Sunday and signed by the Publicity Secretary of Ogun APC Caretaker Committee, Tunde Oladunjoye, the late politician was described as an “uncommon bridge builder, patriot and a very humane, courteous and humble politician whose model was politics without bitterness”. “Either as a federal minister or as a Senator of the Federal Republic, Pa Martins Kuye gave a very good account of himself as an accessible community leader,...
The chairman of the Caretaker Committee of the Edo State chapter of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Col David Imuse (rtd), has said that the party would appeal Saturday’s judgement by the Federal High Court, Abuja, which dismissed the alleged certificate forgery suit filed against Governor Godwin Obaseki by the party. The presiding judge, Justice Ahmed Mohammed, had on Saturday dismissed the suit filed by the APC and a chieftain of the party, Williams Edobor, on the conclusion that the plaintiffs failed to prove their allegations of forgery against Governor Obaseki as it is expected in every criminal matter. “Allegation of forgery borders on crime which must be proved beyond reasonable doubt. In the instant case, no iota of evidence talk-less of a proof beyond reasonable doubt was bro...
The Lagos State Chapter of Peoples Democratic Party has advised Gov. Babajide Sanwo-Olu to strive hard to provide satisfactory dividends of democracy to residents of the state in 2021. The state PDP Publicity Secretary, Taofik Gani, said this in an interview with the News Agency of Nigeria in Lagos, while assessing Sanwo-Olu’s performance in 2020. “As a constructive opposition party, the year 2020 was not satisfactory in terms of dividends of democracy to Lagos residents. “Most of the local council chairmen performed below average, Sanwo-Olu should look into that because the chairmen are putting too much pain on the people due to their abdication of duties. “We are indeed very anxious to take over government as an opposition party in Lagos,” Gani said. According to him, the party shared wi...
After making a good show of his soccer career with numerous laurels to show for his efforts, German international Thomas Muller and his wife Lisa have ventured into horse sperm business. In fact they are tipped to soon become ‘horse sperm millionaires’, according to German newspaper Bild. The Mullers are selling horse sperm online and are reportedly progressing in that regard. The World Cup and Champions League winner Muller is the self-titled ‘director of carrots’ at his wife Lisa’s stables. She is a champion dressage rider so knows a thing or two about all things equine. Now their breeding farm has been named ‘EU Insemination Station’ for 2021. This means breeders can order semen from their stallions, including Muller’s favourite D’Avie (or Dave as it’s also known as). Two ‘installments’...
Edo state chapter of the All Progressives Congress (APC) yesterday described claims by a former charman of the party, Anselm Ojezua that he was leaving the party with 150,000 members as spurious and unfounded. A statement yesterday by the State Assistant Publicity Secretary of the APC, Ofure Osehobor, said Ojezua had long left the party but that he was not popular enough to gather such a number of supporters being claimed. He said “This is deliberate falsehood because Edo people know that this man has no such followership. Moreover he left the party long before now. What is sad is that instead of staying quietly in his new party, he has chosen to embarrass himself with these claims. “Here is a man who has lost political relevance, in all its ramifications but decided to lurk around by hold...
