Group dismisses Nigerian Army chief’s coup alarm as diversionary
A Coalition of elders under the auspices of Nigeria Elders for Peace and Good Governance (CONEPAGG), has accused the Chief of Army Staff, Lieutenant General Tukur Buratai, of raising false alarm about “imaginary” coup to divert the attention of Nigerians from the failings of the Service Chiefs. Buratai had while decorating the 39 newly promoted Major Generals, said he was aware that some Generals were being approached by politicians, warning that his eyes are on them. Senator Lawan urges South Africa to secure business interests of Nigerians
President of the Senate Ahmad Lawan has urged the South African authorities to reciprocate Nigerian Government’s gesture by ensuring that business interests of Nigerians in South Africa are secured. The statistician General of the Federation, Dr. Yemi Kale, announced this on Monday while delivering a keynote address at the Training of Trainers for the National Business Sample Census (NBSC) 2020 in Abuja. Kale said the information emanating from the census activity would be primarily useful in understanding the nature and structure of the economy, as well as providing a sound business frame for the conduct of economic surveys in the country. Report: Leeds and Newcastle keen on signing 25-yr-old from PL giants this summer
Arsenal defender Calum Chambers is a man in demand this summer. According to Nicolo Schira, Newcastle United, Leeds United and West Ham United are all interested in signing the Arsenal defender this summer. The 25-year-old defender has fallen out of favour at the club and he’s unlikely to get regular first-team football at Emirates this season. Chambers needs to leave in order to play regular first-team football and it will be interesting to see if he suitors can agree on a deal with the Gunners now.
