President Buhari approved constitution of FHA board

President Muhammadu Buhari has approved the constitution of the Board of Federal Housing Authority (FHA) for a period of three years, reappointing Sen. Lawal Shuaibu, from Zamfara State, as Chairman. The All Progressives Congress (APC) has dismissed the purported suspension of former senator representing Enugu North senatorial district, Senator Ayogu Eze, describing it as a ruse. The chairperson of Eti Osa local government, Rafiu Olatunji, has died on Monday night at his Sangotedo residence. He died from a long-term illness. The President of the Court of Appeal, Hon Justice Monica Dongban-Mensem, has organised a special court sitting in Jos where about 270 Motions and Appeals would be addressed for quick dispensation of justice. Fuel marketers bewail extortion by DPR officials, threaten strike

The Independent Petroleum Marketers Association of Nigeria (IPMAN) Suleja/Abuja Unit, on Sunday, threatened to embark on a strike action over alleged extortion by officials of the Department of Petroleum Resources (DPR). It said members would be instructed not to load from Suleja depot in Niger State. The Election Petitions Tribunal sitting in Calabar Friday, upheld the victory of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) candidate, Dr. Stephen Odey, in the Cross River North Senatorial District by-election. Delivering the judgment in a petition by Joe Agi (SAN) with number: EPT/CR/SEN/03/2020, the chairman of the three-man election tribunal, Justice Yusuf Muhammad, upheld the preliminary objection raised by Odey’s lawyer that the two grounds of petition were pre-election matters. The Tribunal, therefore, struck out the petition for lack of merit.
