The 2021 BAFTA Film Awards red carpet looked a little different this year, with our favourite celebrities’ fashion choices coming from the red carpet and at-home, virtual photo shoots. Hosted by Edith Bowman and Dermot O’Leary, the presenters and nominees throughout the evening had us buzzing to get dressed up again by giving glimpses of sartorial selections that ranged from shimmering dresses to smart suits. Opening the red carpet was a lot of Louis Vuitton. Gugu Mbatha-Raw, Phoebe Dynevor, and Cynthia Erivo all wore stunning designs by the brand’s creative director Nicolas Ghesquière. We also noticed a few standout trends like metallic and sparkling, silver and gold dresses worn by Mbatha-Raw and Erivo; fringed details on Clara Amfo’s black suit, Sophie Cookson...
David and Victoria Beckham pioneered ’90s couple style in a way we hadn’t really seen before. Posh and Becks were fashion icons in their own rights, but once they started dating in 1997 — and debuted coordinated couple outfits — our love for them went to a whole new level. In the late ’90s and early 2000s, Posh and Becks were shaping their individual styles while creating a shared couple aesthetic. Victoria would often wear some defining fashion pieces of the decade — chain mail, halter tops, chain belts, trucker hats, gradient sunglasses, and her own collection of animal-print details. David’s style would revolve around looking like he was straight out of a ’90s R&B music video, with some sporty tracksuits, varsity shirts, and an occasional silk hair scar...
The stylish stars of the 2021 Grammy Awards left no stone unturned when it came to safety. Some our favourite red carpet regulars matched their outfits to their face masks, which took their looks to a truly aspirational new level — and we’ve got the best photos of these fabulous, and responsible, fashion moments. Before we dive into the best photos of celebrities from one of the biggest nights in music, there are two stars that deserve a major shoutout — Billie Eilish and Chika. Rap star Chika really went all out. The 2021 Grammy nominee for best new artist matched her custom pastel Nike x Meals set and lilac Versace bag with a lilac-and-mint ruffled face mask, which created the perfect balance of girlish, relaxed, and athletic style. When it comes to Billie Eilish, she always goes b...
It seems we aren’t the only ones missing fabulous red carpet fashion moments. Awards show aficionado Halle Berry is so eager to get back on the red carpet that she had to create her own fashion moment right in her garden, wearing a black two-piece design from Christian Siriano’s pre-autumn collection. “Looking for a red carpet moment ✨ (This beauty was designed by @csiriano)”, Berry wrote on Instagram under a photo gallery of herself striking a series a dramatic poses in her home and garden. Berry is the first to wear a design from Christian Siriano’s pre-autumn collection that is made from completely recycled materials. The stunning creation features a black floor-length full tulle skirt and a matching, sheer cropped top embellished with 3D black and w...
Holly Willoughby turns 40 today, and she found a way to celebrate the occasion in the sweetest way possible — by slipping on the exact same dress her mum wore for her 40th birthday decades ago. “This photo of my Mum was taken on her 40th birthday at the party she had in the garden,” Willoughby wrote in the heartfelt caption accompanying a side-by-side photo of her mum and herself on Instagram. “I remember this day so clearly. It’s a strange thing to reach the age you remember your Mum being! …I asked her if she’d kept the dress and of course she had… Strange moment zipping it up this morning, wondering how she felt on her big day … I can’t be with my Mum or Dad today but wearing this in her honour makes me feel closer to them… lov...
Put simply, Kate Moss just knows how to wear clothes. Never succumbing to trends that don’t suit her rock-chick-meets-vintage-boho style, she’s carved out the perfect wardrobe for herself, taking inspiration from ’60s fashion icons, her favourite musicians, and the designers she calls her close friends. Since Kate’s catwalk debut at Dolce & Gabbana’s Spring 1992 show, we’ve watched her style evolve into many, fabulous forms. In the ’90s, she was known for slinky, spaghetti strap dresses and her expert pairing of second-hand pieces with haute couture. Then, her party girl lifestyle ushered in the rock chick aesthetic that we know and love her for. And when she isn’t looking effortlessly edgy, she’s floating around in beautiful, vinta...
Anya Taylor-Joy’s red carpet style is as intriguing as her ’60s style transformation as Beth Harmon on The Queen’s Gambit. The American-born, London-raised actor, who is also known for her roles in Emma and Peaky Blinders, has worked with various stylists over the years, including Ozzy Shah, Micaela Erlanger, Ilaria Urbinati, and, most recently, Law Roach. No matter what, Anya always experiments with her fashion choices at events. She once explained to Vogue UK that she loves the drama of red carpet style and “being extra.” She loves magic and fairy tales and having fun on the carpet, taking advantage of the opportunity to “be a bit dramatic,” so it’s no surprise she favours bold prints by Viktor & Rolf and eye-catching Gucci minidresses....
The Duchess of Cambridge has certainly pulled out all of her most festive outfits for her and Prince William’s three-day Royal Train tour of the UK, and that includes festive face masks. The tour is set to cover 1,250 miles over three days to thank individuals and communities for their work during the coronavirus pandemic. Whilst the focus is, of course, on the work the couple is doing, we can’t help but obsess over the duchess’s festive outfits. From her favourite winter coats, red-and-green tartan scarves, and one very cosy fair isle jumper, Catherine’s certainly making us feel joyful and ready for the festive season. But it’s not just the duchess’s coats and scarves making us feel merry and bright — her face masks are also giving off Christmas-y vibes...
It’s exciting to watch The Crown‘s Emma Corrin become an overnight success of an actor. Having also appeared as a supporting role in Misbehaviour alongside Keira Knightley and Gugu Mbatha-Raw, playing a young Princess Diana is certainly the role of a lifetime. And while her onscreen style as the people’s princess is captivating, her offscreen style is equally impressive. Corrin is an ambassador for Miu Miu, which explains why she’s often seen wearing Prada’s girlish but sophisticated sister brand – like the custom blue check-print, Diana-inspired outfit she wore to The Crown‘s season 4 virtual premiere. When not in semicharacter, her style is pretty consistent. Corrin loves a classic black maxi dress for a red carpet event, whether that be a sexy, ...
The new season of The Crown drops on Netflix on 15 Nov., and all eyes will be on Princess Diana ‚ played by newcomer Emma Corrin – who makes her entrance in the fourth chapter of the hit series. While the episodes are set to recount her tumultuous relationship with Prince Charles, this season will, for many viewers, also be a reminder of her unique and incredible fashion sense. From the iconic Catherine Walker tuxedo-style suit (she was the first female royal ever to wear trousers to an evening event) to that sexy, off-the-shoulder “revenge dress” she wore the same night Prince Charles confessed to adultery during their marriage in a television interview, the Princess of Wales understood the power of fashion. And she enjoyed making bold choices. Often dressed in black ...
The 2020 MTV Europe Music Awards took place from all over the world, with Little Mix hosting the event from the United Kingdom, Alicia Keys and Maluma performing from Los Angeles and Miami, respectively, and David Guetta streaming his blowout set from the Széchenyi Bath in Budapest, Hungary (casual). And while the event came to us virtually, it didn’t stop the stars from taking the chance to get dressed up for the occasion. Our favourite stars lit up the virtual red carpet in diamanté, embellished, and studded outfits — like Doja Cat’s sheer black maxi dress covered in crystal embellishments, Alicia Keys‘s diamanté-detail crop top, Maluma’s silver-studded vest, and Madison Beer and Anne-Marie’s satin dresses with sparkling details. When it comes to dress trend...
