Cecily Strong has announced her departure from Saturday Night Live. The longtime SNL cast member bid farewell to the sketch comedy show during this weekend’s Christmas episode. “Tonight we send off one of the best to ever do it,” SNL wrote in a social media post prior to the episode. “We’ll miss you, Cecily!” As part of her send-off, Strong reprised her classic character Cathy Anne during Weekend Update. “It’s just my time now, but I had a lot of fun here, and I feel really lucky that I got to have so many of the best moments of my life in this place with these people who I love so much,” she said through tears. Apple has set a star-studded cast for a musical comedy series starring Saturday Night Live regular Cecily Strong. The untitled show (formerly known as Schmigadoon) comes from writers Cinco Paul and Ken Daurio, executive producer Lorne Michaels and Universal Television. The cast alongside Strong will include Keegan-Michael Key, Alan Cumming, Fred Armisen, Kristen Chenoweth, Aaron Tveit, Dove Cameron, Ariana DeBose, Jaime Camil, Jane Krakowski and Ann Harada.
