Rob Zombie Reveals Elvira’s Role in Upcoming Munsters Movie, Confirms PG Rating
Rob Zombie has slowly been revealing which characters the actors in his upcoming movie The Munsters will be playing, and the latest unveiling is Elvira’s role. The “Mistress of the Dark” has been cast as Barbara Carr, the top real estate agent in the flick’s fictional town of Mockingbird Heights. Elvira (real name Cassandra Peterson) had been mentioned as part of the original cast announcement, but her role wasn’t known until now. An on-set picture of her as Barbara finds her nearly unrecognizable. Gone is her trademark vampiric look in favor of a suburban real estate agent with a colorful vintage skirt suit and wavy red hair. Sasha Calle Cast as Supergirl in The Flash Movie
The DC Extended Universe just got a little more super, as Sasha Calle has been added to the upcoming Flash movie as Supergirl. Director Andy Muschietti announced the casting by sharing video of the Zoom call he had with Calle informing her she’d won the role. According to Deadline, the Young and the Restless actress beat out 425 others for the part. The publication also noted that the Boston-born Colombian actress would be making “her debut” in the November 4th, 2022 release, implying there are plans for Calle’s Supergirl in future DCEU movies. This will mark the first time a Latina has ever worn the Supergirl outfit in any form, including in the comics. No less than a week after Warner Bros. announced the departure of Johnny Depp from the Fantastic Beasts franchise, reports are already coming in on a potential replacement. According to The Hollywood Reporter, Hannibal star Mads Mikkelsen is in talks to replace Depp as Gellert Grindelwald. The behind-the-scenes brevity makes sense, seeing how the film is already in production following postponements to Covid-19. Alana Haim and Cooper Hoffman to Lead Paul Thomas Anderson’s ’70s Drama
The stars are aligning for Paul Thomas Anderson. According to The Hollywood Reporter, HAIM singer-songwriter Alana Haim and Cooper Hoffman, son of the late Philip Seymour Hoffman, will make their feature debuts in his untitled ’70s coming-of-age film. Details remain scarce, but it’s being reported that Haim and Hoffman will be the lead stars of the ensemble drama that’s set in the San Fernando Valley. Planes, Trains, and Automobiles is getting a remake. As Deadline reports, Paramount Pictures has commissioned a modern update of John Hughes’ 1987 holiday classic with stars Will Smith and Kevin Hart in the lead. Brooklyn 99 and Woke writer Aeysha Carr will pen the script and make her feature film screenwriting debut. Not surprisingly, both Smith and Hart will also serve as producers on the project via Westbrook Studios and Hartbeat Productions, respectively.
