Police drag Kogi commissioner to court for ‘rape, battery’

Senior Police sources at the Force Intelligence Bureau, Force headquarters, under which the Police Gender Unit operates, on Tuesday affirmed that the Nigerian Police Force has charged the Kogi State Commissioner for Water Resources, Abdulmumuni Danga, to court for allegedly raping and assaulting a lady, among other charges, over a Facebook post. The lady, one Elizabeth Onyeniyi had petitioned the Police Force Intelligence Bureau (FIB) on her ordeal in the hands of the Kogi Commissioner and other accomplices alleging that she was not only raped, but beaten mercilessly and threatened, prompting the FIB to invite Mr. Danga to appear before the Deputy Commissioner of Police, Gender Unit, for questioning on the 2nd of June 2020, after which the Commissioner was released. Police nab eight suspects for rape, sodomy in Kebbi

The Police Command in Kebbi has arrested seven suspected rapists and one for sodomy in the state. The Commissioner of Police in the state, Agunbiade Oluyemi-Lasore, made this known while briefing newsmen in Birnin Kebbi on Tuesday. Oluyemi-Lasore, said that the arrests were made from May to June, adding that the period under review was challenging and eventful for the command. The police Commissioner said that in spite of the daunting challenges, the command was able to crack most of criminal syndicates terrorising the state and made quite a number of arrests. Police arrest 28-year old man for raping lady twice with ‘fake’ gun

Anambra State Police Command, has arrested a 28-year-old man for allegedly, raping a 36 year old woman twice with ‘improvised’ gun. The incident took place on Friday at Okpuno, Awka South local government area, close to Nnamdi Azikiwe University Unizik temporary site. The suspect, one Emeka Okeke was said to have returned from Awka Correctional center recently for alleged manslaughter.
