Niger governor: Incompetent leaders took over from military in 1999
Governor Abubakar Bello of Niger state has attributed the failures recorded in governance since the coming of democracy in 1999 to incompetent leaders who took over leadership of the country from military. 160 Almajirai rescued in Kaduna State
No fewer than 160 children have been rescued by Kaduna State Government COVID-19 Task Force officials from locations that are neither authorised and licensed as schools nor as children’s homes in the state. According to a statement issued by Muyiwa Adekeye, the Special Adviser to the State Governor on Media and Communication, on Friday, some of the rescued children are toddlers who aren’t yet able to properly identify themselves. He noted that the rescued children are from thirteen states in the northern and southern parts of the country. Adekeye added that some of the kids are from Benin Republic, Burkina Faso, and Niger Republic. Minister: Tests on NYSC members confirm coronavirus is everywhere in Nigeria
The Federal Government says it has further confirmed from results of tests conducted on prospective National Youth Service Corps members confirmed that no part of the country was free of COVID-19. The Minister of State for Health, Sen. Lagos governor: Coronavirus not a hoax, cases rising
Lagos State Governor, Babajide Sanwo-Olu, has cautioned Nigerians against the belief that the existence of coronavirus is a hoax. Governor Sanwo-Olu still recovering from coronavirus infection
Over one week after testing positive for COVID-19, Lagos State governor, Babajide Sanwo-Olu, is yet to make a complete recovery. The governor tested positive for the novel disease on December 11, 2020 after he was in close contact with an infected aide. The Lagos government reported that the governor was displaying mild symptoms and fatigue and was receiving treatment at home. 10-year old girl throws step-brother into well in Ondo
A 10 year old girl identified as Suliyat Abubakar has allegedly thrown his step brother into the well in Akure, the Ondo State capital. The girl said she took the action because her father showed more love to her step brother more than her and her other siblings. The state Commissioner of Police, Mr Bolaji Salami, who paraded the girl at the state police command, Akure said the suspect would be prosecuted accordingly. He said the young girl was arrested behind the Central Mosque, Akure.
