Ang Lee to Direct Son Mason Lee in Bruce Lee Biopic
They’re in a Lee-gue of their own: Ang Lee has cast his own son Mason Lee in an upcoming biopic of legendary martial artist and actor Bruce Lee. Ang Lee is both a master of fighting spectacles (Crouching Tiger, Hidden Dragon) and a helmer of deep character studies (Brokeback Mountain), so he would seem to be uniquely suited to the task. Bruce Lee’s Death Could Have Been Caused by Drinking “Excessive” Amount of Water
A new study published in Clinical Kidney Journal has proposed that Bruce Lee’s death was caused by the martial arts legend’s “high chronic fluid intake,” or simply, his tendency to drink too much water. The paper, written by a group of kidney doctors from the Autonomous University of Madrid, suggests that the cerebral oedema that led to the 32-year old actor’s sudden passing on July 20th, 1973 was likely due to hyponatraemia, or “the inability to excrete enough water to maintain water homeostasis.” Lee would have been plausible candidate for the condition as the authors listed multiple risk factors including his liquid-heavy diet of juices, an increased intake of alcohol and marijuana, and prior kidney dysfunction as a result of injury. RZA has released “Be Like Water”, a new song dedicated to Bruce Lee soundtracking ESPN’s forthcoming “30 for 30” documentary on the iconic martial arts expert and actor. “Bruce Lee’s teachings extended beyond physical martial arts.
