Avant Gardner Acquires Made Event, Electric Zoo for $15 Million
New York City’s most popular EDM venue has taken over its premier electronic festival. Last week, Billboard reported that the investment group behind Brooklyn hotspot Avant Gardner is purchasing New York promoter Made Event for $15 million from LiveStyle. Settled earlier this month, the deal includes Made Event’s crown jewel, Electric Zoo, the biggest electronic dance music festival in New York. As a result of the acquisition, Avant Gardner will operate Electric Zoo this year. New Music Festival to Bring Galantis, SG Lewis, More to Brooklyn for Pride Month
Pride Month is primed for a fresh dose of electronic music in New York. Planet Pride is a fusion of six New York pride parties: including Dreamland, WE Party, XLSIOR, ZeroSpace, Ty Tea and Love Prism. Global dance music titan Tiësto will be making his Brooklyn Mirage debut in New York on July 14th and 15th. These two shows will be his biggest solo performances in the city in years, according to a press release shared with EDM.com. The Brooklyn Mirage is a spectacular outdoor space with a state-of-the-art sound system and three-dimensional video projection mapping technology. In 2021 alone, Tiësto amassed a staggering one billion Spotify streams and currently has over 70 million monthly listeners around the globe. Trance and progressive house music star Gareth Emery seems to always be at work on something new, be it music, live performances, funny videos, or cryptocurrency-based ventures.
