The 2022 BRIT Awards are a much-needed fashion indulgence. Unlike film and television award red carpets, music award shows are dedicated to over-the-top celebrity outfits — and with stars like Adele, Little Simz, and Holly Humberstone leading the nominations, the looks promise to be dramatic, tailored, and a bit ’90s. Opening the red carpet was a daring, black Mônot two-piece set with zigzag hemlines worn by Maya Jama. Nominee Holly Humberstone also brought a bit of ’90s to the BRITs with a grunge-inspired black lace dress paired with feathered, arm-length cuffs. KSI kept it cool with an eclectic black harness worn over a smart grey suit, vertical split-hem trousers, and chunky platform shoes. And Anne-Marie switched it up with a minimal, black leather jacket, as opposed to her...
If there was one thing we were all highly anticipating at the 2022 BRIT Awards, it was Adele. With her return to our social media feeds and music playlists, we knew it would only be a matter of months before we saw her gracing us with another beautiful look on the red carpet — and she didn’t disappoint. Known for her Hollywood-glamour-inspired looks during award season, Adele’s outfit at this year’s BRIT Awards nodded to another nostalgic fashion moment. Dressed in a custom Armani gown and styled by Jamie Mizrahi, Adele brought the star power as she returned to the BRIT Awards after six years. Armani is no stranger to dressing stars for the red carpet. With the return of the superstar to her home ground, the brand created a classic evening ensemble to complement the occas...
It looks as if everybody on the red carpet at the 2022 BRIT Awards had recently attended a screening of “The Matrix Resurrections.” Apparently, the sartorial order of the day was “undisputedly cool,” with attendees taking us into the future by swanning the carpet in black cutouts, structural shapes, ankle-sweeping coats, and a whole lot of leather. BRIT Award winner Little Simz led the vanguard in an all-black ensemble layered with a pop of neon green, courtesy of Prada. She completed the look with some red-tinted sunglasses that Trinity would no doubt approve of. Behind her came Ashley Roberts in a standout black halter-neck Mônot gown with leather gloves — this time fusing “The Matrix” with the late, great Thierry Mugler. It was clear to see MuglerR...

Queen guitarist Brian May has taken to Instagram to explain that his words were “subtly twisted” to suggest he is unfriendly toward the trans community during a recent interview with press at ITV’s Palooza event in London. “Yes — I was ambushed and completely stitched up by a journalist at the recent ITV event,” wrote May, 74, on social media. “And it’s led to a whole mess of press stories making it look like I’m unfriendly to trans people. Nothing could be further from the truth. My words were subtly twisted.” Explore See latest videos, charts and news See latest videos, charts and news Speaking to The Mirror newspaper on Nov. 23, May seemed to criticize the Brit Awards — U.K.’s biggest music event — for removing separate male and female categories for the solo artist prizes. Queen guitarist Brian May slammed the BRIT Awards for their removal of gender-specific award categories. He also wondered whether Queen would be have been “forced” to have transgender and multi-racial band members if they existed in present day. In an interview with The Mirror, May compared the BRIT Awards’ shift away from male and female-specific categories to an infringement on personal freedom. He then used the topic to pontificate on a what he calls an “atmosphere of fear” that is plaguing society. “…because people are afraid to say how they really think,” May said with a fearful tone himself, then warning that “there will be some kind of explosion.” Advertisement Related Video Even less tactfully, May went on to say that Queen “would be forced to have people of different colors and di...
Opera gloves were the unexpected accessory of choice at the 2021 BRIT Awards. Held live from London’s O2 Arena on Tuesday, 11 May, some of the best dressed stars on the red carpet had a few things in common: pastel ruffles, neon gowns, and “COVID friendly” accessories like designer masks, socially distanced headpieces, and opera gloves that completed a co-ordinated look. Two of the most memorable outfits on the red carpet came from Mabel and Raye. The singers wore body-hugging neon gowns with Mabel in lime green, Raye in fuchsia, and long elegant opera gloves to match. Jessie Ware and Lianne La Havas also chose opera gloves to complete their looks, but instead went for a more minimal palette of black and animal print. It makes so much sense why opera gloves are so popular...
With Little Mix’s Leigh-Anne Pinnock and Perrie Edwards each expecting their first child, the girls coordinated their outfits with Jade Thirlwall and wore matching white gowns to the 2021 BRIT Awards, where they won Best British Group — the first-ever woman group to do so. Leigh-Anne went for a semisheer gown by Maison Margiela, Perrie wore a coordinated set by David Koma, and Jade completed the trio in a gorgeous Vivienne Westwood gown. “We’re gonna form a mini group,” Perrie joked about her baby bump with host AJ Odudu on the BRIT Awards red carpet live stream. After being asked which designers each Little Mixer was wearing, Leigh-Anne said, “I’m wearing Margiela.” Jade added, “I’m wearing Vivienne Westwood, darling!” and Perrie...

Dua Lipa is certainly one of the most stylish stars on the 2021 BRIT Awards red carpet. The Future Nostalgia singer arrived looking like a winner wearing a golden-yellow Vivienne Westwood minidress with head-to-toe accessories by the iconic British punk fashion brand. “I wanted to make it British, quite London, have some fun with it,” Dua told hosts Yasmin Evans and AJ Odudu on the BRIT red carpet live stream. “It’s all about getting people together.” Dua’s outfit featured a golden-yellow Vivienne Westwood bardot minidress with a neon-purple mesh overlay and the brand’s signature three-row pearl bas relief choker necklace (£340), with earrings, bracelets, and rings by the brand, including a Union Jack ring, a pair of deep-plum platform lace-up heel...
