Damien Quintard Takes Us Inside the Reopening of Studio Miraval

A few weeks ago, it was announced that Brad Pitt was going to reopen recording studio Studio Miraval on his winery, Chateau Miraval, in the South of France. At first glance, this may appear to some like another celebrity vanity project. However, this is anything but that. In case you’re unaware, Studio Miraval (now called Miraval Studios) is one of the legendary studios in music history. Albums like the Rolling Stones’ Exile on Main Street and Pink Floyd’s The Wall were recorded there. Studio Miraval has also hosted sessions by luminaries like The Cure, Sting, Sade and The Cranberries. Not too shabby. What made this studio such an attraction at its height was its location on the French Riviera. The land by Studio Miraval consists of three houses where artists lived while recording, with bo...

Angelina Jolie Reveals She “Fought” with Brad Pitt Over Working with Harvey Weinstein

In a new interview, Angelina Jolie opened up about how Harvey Weinstein affected her relationship with ex-husband Brad Pitt. Speaking to The Guardian, the actress first reiterated her experience with the disgraced Hollywood producer while filming 1998’s Playing by Heart. “If you get yourself out of the room, you think he attempted but didn’t, right?” she said. “The truth is that the attempt and the experience of the attempt is an assault.” (Weinstein has denied Jolie’s experience in the past. She was just 21 years old at the time.) The Those Who Wish Us Dead star went on to reveal she later turned down a role in 2004’s The Aviator alongside Leonardo DiCaprio to avoid working with the producer again. “I said no because he was involved. I never associated or worked with him again. It was har...

Ranking: Every David Fincher Movie from Worst to Best

Mank, the latest from director David Fincher, is yet another feat by a filmmaker who has notched a few of them. He’s in that holy trinity of modern directors right alongside P.T. Anderson and Christopher Nolan — auteurs whose films are so defiantly theirs. Fincher would be the first to tell you that his career started off disastrously (read on for info on the Alien 3 production), so who could have anticipated all of the success that would follow both critically and financially? Not only did our film staff agree on a ranking of Fincher’s 11 films, we went ahead and dissected each movie, as well. The director’s career is full of highlights, curiosities, and a small serving of disasters. However, all of his films remain interesting in their own ways. We hope you’ll dive into the 8,000+ words ...

Brad Pitt (photo by Michael Muller) and Joe Biden (photo by Phil Roeder via the National Archives and Records Administration) With the election just nine days away, the stars are coming out in full force in support of Joe Biden. Brad Pitt is the latest celebrity to tie himself to the Democratic presidential candidate’s campaign, as he narrates a new ad for Biden. Premiering during Game 4 of the World Series between the Dodgers and Rays on Saturday, the clip leans heavy into Biden’s message of positivity. Over shots of the candidate meeting a range of supporters, Pitt says, “America is a place for everyone – those who chose this county, those who fought for it – some Republicans, some Democrats, and most, somewhere in between.” The actor goes on to talk about how we’re a...
