ISOxo isn’t afraid of taking the sounds of bass music’s most seasoned vets into overdrive. The Sable Valley artist and EDM.com Class of 2022 inductee has had nothing short of a banner year thus far, and after dropping the blistering “REDloop” last month, he’s showing there’s certainly more where that came from. ISOxo dug deep and unearthed a classic in Kaaris’ “Chargé,” which was subsequently remixed by Mr. Carmack and then again by Boombox Cartel. Building off what the two esteemed producers started, he slows the track’s tempo, allowing its magnificent brass fanfare to build and linger while providing a suspenseful backdrop for the mayhem that follows. As fans of the blossoming bass music virtu...
In January, Crown Channel and Riot Games hosted their first digital festival, wwFest: VALORANT, tapping Madeon for a headlining performance and additional sets from WHIPPED CREAM, Moore Kismet, and more. Today they’ve announced their second festival with even more talent slated to perform. Their latest virtual festival installment is titled wwFest: Unlocked YR1 and is in celebration of the one-year anniversary of Riot Games’ wildly popular 5-on-5 tactical shooter game VALORANT. This time around, Gryffin is set to headline with Boombox Cartel, Aluna, Justin Oh, and Unknown Brain performing as well. Each set will be performed in five different locations: Los Angeles, South Korea, Dubai, Mexico, and Germany, which were picked to reflect the world of VALORANT. Festivitie...
Boombox Cartel‘s dominance in electronic music is simply undebatable. His music remains omnipresent in setlists around the globe and his success has landed him collaborations with Dillon Francis, Desiigner, MadeinTYO, Grabbitz, and many more. Now, four years after the release of his critically acclaimed Cartel EP, Boombox Cartel has arrived with the record’s hotly anticipated follow-up. Cartel II is a direct continuation of its predecessor, capturing the essence of his distinctive sound while introducing a handful of new tunes that will almost certainly become fan-favorites. He shows off his well-rounded production skills, easily oscillating between moody and heavy-hitting throughout the EP’s seven tracks. Included on Cartel II are his previously released single...
Boombox Cartel has picked up steam as of late. After ending 2020 with his KRANE collaboration “All Again,” he recently came back into the spotlight on his tune “Shadow” with Moody Good and Calivania. Today, he returns alongside J.I.D for “Reaper.” “Reaper” is a highlight reel of each artist’s undeniable talents, as contributions from both ends have helped create an instant hit. The track wastes no time, as J.I.D begins to lay verse shortly after the haunting intro begins. The drop comes with an air of familiarity, as Boombox Cartel’s signature trap ferocity shines through. “Reaper” will most certainly become a staple in Boombox Cartel’s sets as festivals continue their return. “Reaper...
Following 2020 single releases “Máquina” and “All Again” with KRANE, 2021 has been relatively silent for Boombox Cartel. That changed yesterday after the internationally recognized Mexican-American producer teased new music in a serendipitous tweet. The bass music star’s original five-track Cartel EP was released in 2017 and now, four years later, Boombox Cartel has announced that Cartel II is finally on the way. No date or tracklist for the follow-up EP has been revealed just yet, but more news is expected soon. Check out his tweet below. Features on the original Cartel EP included Shoffy, Taranchyla, and QUIX, on a release that infused influences from trap, dubstep, and future bass. Fans will surely be hoping for more impressive features,...

The minds behind Borderlands 3 have once again demonstrated their love for dance music on the trailer for the game’s second Season Pass. On the newly-released trailer, viewers can witness the Borderlands series’ signature cel-shaded comedy and violence set to the sounds of Dillon Francis and Boombox Cartel‘s 2019 single “Drip.” Fans of the game know that it has a long history with dance music. When the third entry in the series was released back in 2019, the trailer featured music from GRiZ. Back in June 2020, Noah Epps stunned his America’s Got Talent audience with a spine-chilling dance routine to a song by Excision, harnessing his love of electronic music and manifesting it into a unique performance that captured the collective heart of the EDM community. Epps went on to advance to the quarterfinals of the famed competition show and poured gasoline on his meteoric rise with a mind-blowing performance soundtracked by Boombox Cartel‘s breakout trap hit “B2U.” The America’s Got Talent producers pulled out all the stops for the young phenom, who gyrated around in his signature marionette costume on a festival-grade stage and backdrop featuring polychromatic arcade consoles, a menacing claw machine, and a giant Epps-branded spider robot. &...
