The auction for Lindsay Lohan’s new NFT has concluded with a winning bid of 85,484.09. No, this is not an April Fools’ joke. Lohan’s NFT (non-fungible token) sale comprised a motion graphic featuring animated butterflies that flap their wings in unison with a digitized Lohan’s blinking eyes. The artwork is soundtracked by a new song called “Lullaby” in which she sings over an electronic beat produced by Manuel Riva. In a bizarre reversal of fortune, Ja Rule has monetized his involvement in the infamous Fyre Festival in a way no one could have predicted. The rapper is the latest celebrity to join the NFT craze, and has successfully auctioned off a piece of Fyre Festival history. This particular NFT is of a 48″ x 60″ poster that once hung in the company’s office, and in addition to the digital file of the asset, the winner will also receive the physical version.  Like so many other NFTs as of late, this festival poster fetched a jaw-dropping winning bid. An anonymous buyer took home the work for $122,000. Coronavirus: CBN doubles loan disbursement to N300 billion – bank governor

The Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN) says it plans to double the Targeted Credit Facility (TCF) from the initial N149.21 billion to N300 billion following the resounding success recorded in the disbursement of the Covid-19 loans to the applicants. In his keynote address at the 2nd virtual seminar for Finance Correspondents and Editors at the weekend, the Governor said the Bank took the decision in order to accommodate many more beneficiaries as well as boost consumer expenditure which would positively stimulate the economy. He disclosed that the CBN initially created a N150 billion Targeted Credit Facility (TCF) for affected households and small and medium enterprises through the NIRSAL Microfinance Bank, adding that already, N149.21 billion has been disbursed to 316,869 beneficiaries. “Given...

Grimes Releases New Music via Cryptocurrency Art Auction, Rakes in $6 Million

Grimes has released new music, but it’s not available as a physical release or via streaming services. Instead, the unreleased material accompanies cryptocurrency art pieces in WarNymph Collection Vol 1, a collaboration with her brother Mac Boucher which made Grimes more than $6 million via auction. The art isn’t physically available, either, but comes in the form of non-fungible tokens (NFT). WarNymph contains 10 different pieces. As Exclaim points out, Earth is accompanied by the unreleased track, “Ærythe”, while Mars is soundtracked by “Mars Theme”.
