Harry Styles has set a Hot 100 record with “As It Was.” Per Billboard, the Harry’s House cut’s 15th week atop the chart has earned him the longest-reigning No. 1 by a British artist. It’s officially time to talk about Bruno. The Encanto song “We Don’t Talk About Bruno” has risen to No. 1 on the Billboard Hot 100, unseating Adele’s “Easy on Me” after the latter spent 10 weeks atop the chart. According to Billboard, “Bruno” is only the second No. 1 from a Disney animated film and follows Peabo Bryson and Regina Belle’s iconic Aladdin theme “A Whole New World,” which topped the chart in 1993. After six weeks atop the Billboard 200, Adele’s 30 has been toppled by the soundtrack to Encanto, the animated Disney film featuring songs written by Lin-Manuel Miranda. Encanto earned 72,000 equivalent album units for the week ending January 6th, with streaming activity making up the majority of that sum. The two most popular songs from the soundtrack, “We Don’t Talk About Bruno” and “Surface Pressure,” respectively debuted on the Billboard Hot 100 chart at No. 50 and No. 54 last week, and are expected to climb even higher. With the release of the new record, the singer and songwriter notched her first No. 1 album on the Billboard 200 charts. Still Over It dropped on November 5 to much fanfare as fans dove into the album, assumed largely to be a 20-track affair detailing the happenings of her last relationship. While the connection between Walker and London has gone considerably icy, it should be noted that the producer proved a handful of tracks for the new album. Billie Eilish’s Happier Than Ever Has Second-Largest One-Week Vinyl Sales in 30 Years

Billie Eilish has earned her second No. 1 album with Happier Than Ever, which would have topped the Billboard 200 based on vinyl sales alone. The LP moved 238,000 equivalent album units for the week ending August 5th, according to sales tracking company MRC Data. Of that total, 153,000 units were in pure album sales. Physical sales comprised 129,000, with 73,000 vinyl copies purchased. According to Billboard, Happier‘s vinyl sales mark the second-largest sales week in at least thirty years. (MRC Data, previously known as SoundScan, didn’t start tracking vinyl sales until 1991). Billboard and Twitter have united to form a first-of-its-kind chart called Billboard Hot Trending. In a statement from Billboard, the publication dedicated to all things music, said the chart would shine a spotlight on “the most talked-about songs” on Twitter by monitoring tweets and trends in real-time. The criteria that will help determine what makes this particular list include “music nostalgia threads,” new music releases, awards shows, plus music and festival highlights.
