According to Big Gigantic, the fastest way towards a brighter future is through optimism, love and understanding. With this vision in mind since the release of 2016’s Brighter Future album, the Boulder-based tandem have now unveiled their 13-track follow-up, Brighter Future 2. Released independently, Big Gigantic’s eighth studio album is a collection of uplifting songs with affirming names like “Love Unlimited,” “Open Your Mind” and “Keep on Rising.” Featuring collaborations with Aloe Blacc, GRiZ, Vic Mensa, Elohim and others, the dynamic and diverse album contains songs for every occasion, like the pumped-up moombahton track “Energy” (with MZG) and the chilled-out sax-trap beat “Love Unlimited.” Each finds Big Gigan...
With just two weeks until their forthcoming album arrives, Big Gigantic has dropped yet another single from the LP. This time around, they’re joined by Brooke Williams for “Losing My Mind.” “Losing My Mind” is the perfect fusion of Big Gigantic and Brooke Williams, as they each use their unique skills to create a pop-tinged anthem. Intricately-placed synths guide listeners alongside Brooke Williams’ shimmering vocals, creating a beautifully airy atmosphere perfect for the summer. Though the lyrics are melancholy, the song’s upbeat feel makes this one an easy listen. “Losing My Mind” is the latest single from the duo’s upcoming eighth studio album, Brighter Future 2. The LP is off to a hot start with each of its singles, as th...
Boulder, Colorado-based dance music duo Big Gigantic have announced their eighth studio album, Brighter Future 2, as well as a summer tour. The announcement is paired with the release of “Keep It Rising,” a collaboration with Grammy-nominated musician Aloe Blacc, who is perhaps best known in electronic dance music circles for his timeless vocals in Avicii’s “Wake Me Up.” This is the first time in more than a decade that the beloved electronic-funk duo and Aloe Blacc have released music together. The last time was Big Gigantic’s remix of Blacc’s “I Need a Dollar.” “Our ‘I Need A Dollar’ remix really kicked off our career,” said Big Gigantic’s Dominic Lalli in a press release shared with EDM.com. “So it...
Let the good times roll—GRiZ and Big Gigantic have reunited for a brand new single. The two beloved electronic music acts today joined forces for “Open Your Mind,” a massive dubstep track with a reggae twist. And thanks to their signature saxophones, it’s yet another forward-thinking take on the breezy, fun-loving sound that longtime fans admire. Big Gigantic and GRiZ are longtime creative collaborators, most recently joining forces for a single on the latter’s scintillating 7th album, Rainbow Brain. Their 2015 collab “Good Times Roll” remains one of the most prized songs in each of their decorated discographies. And if comments by Big Gigantic are any indication, their collaborative chemistry hasn’t lost a beat. “GRiZ is an absolute mon...
GRiZ and Big Gigantic are once again ready to let the good times roll. The two have become a celebrated joint creative force over the years, and following up on their recent record “Daily Routine” from GRiZ’s Rainbow Brain album, bass music’s funkiest producers are back at it. That being said, however, what’s coming next appears to be a different beast. Late last year, fans began to inquire into an ID GRiZ had begun rinsing out on tour, a track characterized by a grinding, saw-like dubstep bassline. It’s tough to tell based on the brevity of the clip, but it’d seem GRiZ and Big Gigantic are taking their next release back to an era where reggae and dubstep were on a full collision course. Known in some circles as Reggaestep, th...

For lack of a better phrase—GRiZ simply cannot be stopped. After announcing his latest project a few weeks ago, the prolific producer has released his seventh studio album Rainbow Brain alongside an immersive performance video. Each of the album’s 23 tracks are packed full of personality, masterfully woven together to create a strong sense of uniformity. Listeners may recognize some previously released singles, such as “Vibe Check,” “Astro Funk,” “Tie-Dye Sky,” and the titular “Rainbow Brain.” Recommended Articles GRiZ has tapped some huge (and familiar) artists to join him on a handful of Rainbow Brain cuts, such as longtime collaborato...

From a performance by legendary rock band Lynyrd Skynyrd to a Kidz Bop World Tour concert, there are all kinds of shows slated for Red Rocks this year. It’s the electronic music shows, however, that stand out above the rest. ZHU, Zeds Dead, Alison Wonderland, and many more are set to return to Red Rocks this year.
