Betty White’s death certificate has revealed that the television icon suffered a stroke six days before she died. Via TMZ, the official cause of death is listed as cerebrovascular accident, or loss of blood flow to parts of the brain. Reportedly, she was alert and cogent following the stroke, and passed away peacefully in her sleep on December 31st, just weeks short of her 100th birthday. Betty White’s hometown of Oak Park, Illinois has declared that her birthday, January 17th, will now be known as “Betty White Day,” TMZ reports.  The legendary television actress, best known for starring in the iconic sitcoms The Mary Tyler Moore Show and Golden Girls, passed away on December 31st, just shy of her 100th birthday. SNL to Re-Air Betty White-Hosted Episode This Evening

Saturday Night Live will pay tribute to Betty White by rebroadcasting the episode of which she hosted this evening. At the age of 88, White famously hosted SNL in May 2010 after a fan-launched petition accrued hundreds of thousands of signatures. Originally airing on Mother’s Day, White appeared in every single sketch, and was joined by former SNL cast members Tina Fey, Amy Poehler, Molly Shannon, Maya Rudolph, Ana Gasteyer and Rachel Dratch. With JAY-Z serving as the evening’s musical guest, the episode ended up drawing over 12 million views — one of its most viewed telecasts in recent history.
