Paramount+ threw a party to celebrate Mike Judge’s revival of Beavis and Butt-Head, and in the process set a new Guinness World Record for history’s largest serving of nachos. This now-famous appetizer was served at Smorgasburg LA on Sunday, September 25th, with a final weight of 4,870 pounds — as much as a juvenile killer whale. A representative of Guinness was on hand to certify the results and award the team a plaque. “The largest serving of nachos was achieved by Mike Judge’s Beavis and Butt-Head and Paramount+,” the plaque read. Mike Judge said of the award, “This is the proudest moment of my career.” Paramount+ has shared a sizzle reel that details the making of the record-setting nachos. A team of at least seventeen people used shovels to layer on chips, cheese, what ...
Beavis and Butt-Head try to track down some chicks but prove to be quite the catch themselves in an exclusive new clip from Mike Judge’s Beavis and Butt-Head. The third episode of the revived series premieres tomorrow, August 11th on Paramount+, but to hold you over, you can check out 80 seconds of pure silliness below. The clip opens with everyone’s favorite butt munchers paddling down the river like Huck Finn (more like, ‘Suck my Finn,’ heh heh heh). Beavis is feeling a little snackish, and luckily he spots a tasty treat: a gummy worm, or so he thinks. What follows is a classic bit of slapstick that wouldn’t have been out of place in golden age silent movie. Check it out after the jump. So far, the revived series has been a mix of old pleasures and new surprises, including Beavis’ e...
As animated characters, the titular heroes of Beavis & Butt-Head aren’t much for variety when it comes to their respective wardrobes. In fact, for decades they’ve just been wearing the same AC/DC and Metallica T-shirts. But these characters have never been intended to be role models, so let’s encourage their fans to switch up their own wardrobes with a giveaway for a whole line of brand new Beavis & Butt-Head tees. To celebrate the upcoming return of the seminal Mike Judge comedy as a weekly series for Paramount+, animation studio Titmouse is spearheading a T-shirt subscription club, featuring new shirts with original designs by Titmouse artists to accompany the release of each week’s episode. While each shirt will be available individually at the Titmouse website, subscribers to t...
Over 200 remastered episodes of Beavis and Butt-Head are heading to Paramount+, and unlike the titular heroes, the audience is set to score. Paramount has confirmed to Consequence that these updated old episodes will include the original music videos. Before they became big movie stars, Beavis and Butt-Head spent plenty of time on the couch watching music vids, saying awesome stuff like, “These dudes are pretty cool for a bunch of mimes,” of KISS, or wondering if Yanni is Beavis’ dad. This new brand of music criticism could be found on MTV from 1993 through 1997 (plus a one-season revival in 2011) and was reportedly improvised by creator Mike Judge, who voiced both characters. They belong with the show as much as T.P. belongs with a bunghole, so it’s grea...
Paramount+ has set a release date for the Mike Judge’s new animated movie Beavis and Butt-Head Do the Universe, which is out exclusively on the streamer June 23rd. The announcement is accompanied by a first trailer, which you can watch below. Marking the slacker duo’s first appearance on screen in more than a decade, the feature film sets the table for the upcoming return of the Gen X cartoon series. The plot explains how Beavis and Butt-Head arrived in the current day due to an accidental trip through time. The trailer shows Beavis and Butt-Head blasting off into space and dealing with the loss of gravity, all while showing they haven’t grown up one bit. Landing in 2022 is a rude awakening, though the best friends do their best to pick up new technology. Meanwhile, Cornholio makes a cameo...
This article originally appeared in the April 1996 issue of SPIN. “Los Angeles is my favorite city in the world!” declares super foxy Red Hot Chili Peppers guitarist Dave Navarro, offering as proof of his conviction the city’s name tattooed on the back of his neck. “I would never live anywhere else.” Navarro, drummer Chad Smith, and I are wedged into Newsroom, a trendy Beverly Hills restaurant/coffee house/media mill where omnipresent TV monitors serve up the latest from the E! network with your rice-milk cappuccinos. “But I feel like the bad is taking over,” says Smith, an unadulterated rock dude and Detroit native who, Navarro says, wrote the book on that city’s infamous evening of arson known as Devil’s Night. “I wouldn’t want my kids growing up here,” admits Smith, who at age 33 s...
During a TCA event on Wednesday, ViacomCBS unveiled some of the exclusive titles coming to its new streaming platform Paramount+ in the near future. On the comedy front, the streamer is reviving both Reno 911! and Beavis and Butt-Head for new movies. Following a six season run on Comedy Central between 2003 and 2009, Reno 911! was revived by Quibi for a seventh season in 2020. Paramount+’s upcoming revival is billed as a “super-sized event” titled Reno 911! The Hunt for QAnon. As for Beavis and Butt-Head, the upcoming untitled movie will serve as a precursor to a series revival set to air on Comedy Central. This will be the second Beavis and Butt-Head movie, following 1996’s Beavis and Butt-Head Do America. Paramount+, a rebranding of ViacomCBS’ CBS All Access platform,...
New episodes of Beavis and Butt-Head are coming to Comedy Central. Mike Judge is resurrecting his beloved Gen X cartoon as part of a new deal with the cable network. In addition to two new seasons of Beavis and Butt-Head, the deal calls for spin-offs and specials, according to The Hollywood Reporter. “We are thrilled to be working with Mike Judge and the great team at 3 Arts again as we double down on adult animation at Comedy Central,” Chris McCarthy, head of ViacomCBS’ entertainment and youth group, said in a statement. “Beavis and Butt-Head were a defining voice of a generation, and we can’t wait to watch as they navigate the treacherous waters of a world light-years from their own.” In his own statement, Judge joked, “It seemed like the time was right to get stupid again...
Television’s favorite idiots are coming back for some more dumbass-ery. On Wednesday, Comedy Central announced “Beavis and Butt-Head” will be returning to the small screen, with show creator Mike Judge back on board to recreate some ’90s magic. Judge will voice the characters on top of writing and producing two additional seasons for the network, which acquired the seasons through an animation deal with Judge and 3 Arts Entertainment. “We are thrilled to be working with Mike Judge and the great team at 3 Arts again as we double down on Adult Animation at Comedy Central” Chris McCarthy, president of Entertainment & Youth Group at ViacomCBS Domestic Media Networks, said in a release. “Beavis and Butt-Head were a defining voice of a generation, and we can’t wait to watch as they navi...
