Arsenal star’s mum dies after coronavirus battle
Arsenal star Lucas Torreira’s mum has died after a battle with Covid-19, as reported by Uruguayan daily Ovacion. Viviana Di Pascua, 53, was recently admitted to intensive care after contracting the coronavirus in Uruguay. Torreira, who is currently on loan at Atletico Madrid, was given special permission by the La Liga club to fly home to Frey Bentos to be by her side. But Viviana’s situation worsened and on Tuesday her death was announced. Gunners midfielder Torreira contracted Covid-19 himself back in November 2020 following international duty. Torreira was the national team’s twelfth individual among players and staff to receive a positive result at the time. Police recover decomposing bodies of two missing children in Delta
Police have recovered decomposing remains of two missing children, Kelvin Izakpa (10) and Fega Izakpa (7) inside an abandoned car in Abraka community of Delta State. The children, sons of late Meshach Izakpa were staying with their mother before their disappearance. The Acting Public Relations Officer of the Command, DSP Bright Edafe, who confirmed the recovery said the corpses were found in an abandoned Honda car. The car with registration number AG 815 BKW was parked at the house of one Eniku Aghogho Tayo. Tayo has been arrested while the abandoned vehicle that has also been impounded. The Nigerian Army has buried a commanding officer and four other soldiers killed in the attack on the military base in Marte local government of Borno state. The minister of state for health, Olorunnimbe Mamora, says Nigerians who have received COVID-19 vaccines abroad will still be required to take polymerase chain reaction (PCR) tests upon arrival in the country. Speaking on a Channels TV programme on Monday, Mamora said receiving the vaccine is not a license to disregard the already established COVID-19 travel protocol. “The protocol is there already. An Egyptian appeals court has acquitted two young women imprisoned for “attacking society’s values” over videos they published on TikTok.
