Black Sabbath’s Tony Iommi Returns with New Song “Scent of Dark”: Stream

Toni Iommi has returned with a new signature cologne and song, “Scent of Dark”, his first new rock-oriented music in more than eight years. Iommi teamed with Italian perfumier Xerjoff for the boutique cologne, an unexpected branding endeavor for the legendary Black Sabbath guitarist. Iommi is well aware of what fans might think about his new endorsement. “They’ll think I’ve gone mad,” he told Rolling Stone with a laugh. “It’s something I would’ve never thought of involving myself in. But it’s been nice to be involved in it.” Advertisement Related Video Anything that means new music from Iommi is cool by us. He previously contributed a classical piece for the Birmingham Cathedral in 2017, but otherwise, “Scent of Dark” is Iommi’s first traditionally heavy rock song since Black Sabbath’s 201...

Rush Announce Canadian Golden Ale Beer, Share Fun Promo Clip with Geddy Lee and Alex Lifeson: Watch

Rush are getting into the beer business. The legendary prog-rock band has announced Rush Canadian Golden Ale, in collaboration with Toronto’s Henderson Brewery. The genesis of the beer started when Geddy Lee was handed an Iron Maiden Trooper Ale after a Rush concert during their R40 tour. The singer-bassist jokingly wondered aloud why Rush didn’t have their own beer. From there, the wheels were set in motion, leading to the partnership with Henderson Brewery. Guitarist Alex Lifeson, who has been dubbed the band’s “Beer Scientist,” stated, “Rush Canadian Golden Ale is golden in color with a dense ivory head. It has an earthy aroma with hints of orange-peel, pine and spicy rye. While the emphasis is on refreshment, there are elements of pine, rye spice and a citric hop flavor that add to the...

Guns N’ Roses Have an Official Line of Bongs and Smoking Accessories

Axl Rose has hit some pretty amazing high notes during his career, but now Guns N’ Roses are offering up a new kind of high. The legendary band has its own line of bongs and smoking accessories. The Rock & Roll Hall of Famers have partnered with Famous Brandz for a collection that includes two bongs, a couple of grinders, and two hand pipes. The two glass bongs feature artwork from the band’s iconic debut album, Appetite for Destruction. The “Band 12-Inch Water Pipe” has a hexagonal shape at the bottom showing each of the skeletal images of the band members, while the “Appetite for Destruction 10-Inch Dab Rig” shows the group shot of the skeletons at the base, with the words “Guns N’ Roses Was Here” in the middle. Sonic Frequencies from “The Black Album” Make Metallica’s Latest Blackened Whiskey the Perfect Sipper: Review

Metallica have unveiled The Black Album Whiskey Pack, the latest release in their Blackened American Whiskey line. The 12 songs from the classic 1991 album were used for the “Black Noise” sonic-enhancement process, literally pummeling the casks with sonic frequencies to extract flavors from the wood. The new pack includes a bottle of Batch 114 Blackened whiskey — finished to the low hertz frequencies of “The Black Album” — a collectible coin, and a Snakebite cocktail booklet. It’s a dream gift for Metallica fans and at a very modest SRP of $49.99, considering this is high-grade craft whiskey. I was fortunate enough to have been gifted a pack for this article. Knowing that I certainly couldn’t polish off the whole bottle alone — or shouldn’t, at least — I decided to bust out ...

To celebrate the latest single, “Watering the Well”, the band has announced a limited-edition beer in a partnership with Fall Brewing Company. The new song is another scorcher in an ongoing series of singles that the band is also releasing on separate 7-inch vinyl. Let’s just say, the galloping pace and rousing anthemic vocals won’t sound worse after a few beers. “‘Watering the Well’ is equal parts rock ‘n’ roll rendezvous and back alley Bronx beatdown,” Bronx vocalist Matt Caughthran said in a press release. “With an opening riff that doubles as...

<span class="localtime" data-ltformat="F j, Y | g:ia" data-lttime="2021-05-10T16:34:25+00:00“>May 10, 2021 | 12:34pm ET Iron Maiden have added to their family of craft beer with the new Hellcat India Pale Lager, arriving this fall. The 6% ABV beer is a new collaboration with BrewDog, which states that the lager is where “hops and malts collide.” Sporting a hazy gold appearance and a citrus-forward flavor with a malty backbone, the beer touts a complex taste and a strong potency — just like the music of Iron Maiden. “I’ve been looking for the perfect partner with whom to bring a fresh, exciting beer to the US,” said Iron Maiden singer Bruce Dickinson. “I’ve long been an admirer of BrewDog, not just because of their beers, but also of their attitude and s...

GWAR to Release Signature Ragnarök Rye Whiskey Provided They Don’t Drink It All Themselves

<span class="localtime" data-ltformat="F j, Y | g:ia" data-lttime="2021-05-05T16:21:22+00:00“>May 5, 2021 | 12:21pm ET GWAR are set to release their new signature whiskey, Ragnarök Rye. A batch of 200 cases will be available on May 28th via Catoctin Creek Distilling Company. As the story goes, the distillers partnered with the interplanetary barbarians back in February, when Ragnarök Rye was supposed to come out. But the band, notorious for their alcoholic intake, apparently drank all of its own whiskey. “We knew working on this whisky with the legendary shock rock band GWAR would be troublesome, but we didn’t realize it would be this troublesome,” said Catoctin Creek founder and general manager Scott Harris in a press release. “Usually, we have the pro...
